NORTH CENTRAL RAILWAY BUSTS TRAIN SABOTAGE GANG

NORTH CENTRAL RAILWAY BUSTS TRAIN SABOTAGE GANG

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the North Central Railway (NCR) has notched up a major success by successfully busting a gang involved in sabotage activity on railway tracks near the Dadri station of Allahabad Division of NCR. Suspicion was aroused by the repeated incidents of signal failure in Dadri which led to the covert installation of CCTV cameras on the signal posts in Dadri Yard by the S&T department of NCR led by SrDSTE(Co)/Allahabad. The move proved to be a success as soon afterwards, a CCTV camera recorded one of the members of the gang trying to short a glued joint by using a coin, which would have resulted in another signal failure. With this crucial piece of evidence in hand, Sr.DSC/RPF of Allahabad Division formed a crack team which started close coordination with the civil police and civil administration of Dadri/Gautambuddh Nagar. The result of this effective coordination and exchange of information was that the crack team of RPF/NCR, headed by sub inspector Rambabu Singh was able to apprehend and arrest two members of the gang in coordination with SOG team of GTB Nagar and Police Post Soorajpur. The gang members nabbed were identified as 23 year old Rajan, and 24 year old Dinesh, both residents of Jahangirabaad. Two more members of the gang managed to escape the clutches of the RPF and police. Shockingly, those nabbed turned out to be more than mere miscreants as a 315 bore pistol and a knife were recovered from their possession besides a single 2 rupee coin that they used to short the tracks and turn the signals red. Upon interrogation, both of them admitted that they were involved in wantonly failing the signals with an intention to stop trains and rob the passengers.A case was registered against both the accused in police post Surajpur under the relevant sections of the arms act and railway act. Speaking on the success GM/NCR Shri M.C. Chauhan said that the activities of the culprits nabbed show the specialized nature of the crime that they were expert in. He congratulated Railway Protection Force for successfully busting a gang of criminals and reiterated the commitment of the NCR to the security and safety of passengers.
