A review meeting through video conference of Shri Rajen Gohain, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and General Manager’s ofnine zonal railways was held on, 17th November, 2017.The meeting was attended by Shri M.C. Chauhan, General Manager North Central Railway. All the Principal Head of departments were present on the occasion. The zonal railways reviewed during the meeting were North Central Railway, Northern Railway, North Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway, West Central Railway, East Central Railway, North Western Railway and South East Central Railway. The criterions discussed during the meeting were Passenger segment, Freight segment, Punctuality and strategy for safety and mobility during foggy weather.
The meeting started with the welcome of Hon’ble MOSR. Hon’ble MOSR in his address said all of us should work to achieve the targets. He also emphasized to have more coordinated efforts for improved performance during the remaining months of ongoing year. He also instructed General Managers to ensure availability of rakes for loaders and tap all the available loading potential.
Member Traffic, Railway BoardShri Mohd. Jamshed in his address discussed about the targets laid down by Railway board and said that these targets have to be achieved, to ascertain the operating Ratio of at least 95% for Indian Railways. He said, it is necessary to accomplish the revenue generation of Rs 1,87,000 Crores through freight loading and passenger traffic. He also emphasized on the need to have 140 MT of incremental loading during the current financial year to meet the targets.
A detailed powerpoint presentation about the overall and zone wise performances, regarding freight loading, freight earnings, passenger earnings including PRS and non PRS segments, punctuality performances etc was made.
During the meeting Shri MC Chauhan General Manager, North Central Railway gave a detailed briefing about the achievements and performances ofNorth Central Railway. Shri Chauhan said that North Central railway made a remarkable improvement of 11.5% in punctuality in comparison to last year. He also mentioned that this could be achieved only due to the various steps taken to improve mobility like yard remodeling of Dadri yard and close monitoring of train movement etc. He also discussed about the improvement in loading performance and surpassing the proportionate target by 12.8%. General Manager also talked about the support needed from Railway Board and assured the Minister that we will make all possible efforts to accomplish the targets.
