GM/NCR CONDUCTS WINDOW TRAILING INSPECTION OF ALLAHABAD-MIRZAPUR SECTION:INSPECTS MIZAPUR STATION

GM/NCR, Shri M.C. Chauhan conducted a window trailing inspection from Allahabad to Mirzapur Today on Saturday (21stof April, 2018) by train number 14056 (Brahmaputra Mail). Window-trailing inspection is a specialized inspection in the Indian Railways in which the track and its surrounding installations like signals, OHE, platforms etc are inspected from the rear window of an inspection car attached to a moving train. During the inspection, important parameters like cleanliness and overall condition of stations falling en-route, riding quality of the train-especially on points and crossings, progress of work of Dedicated Freight Corridor, Improvement in Track Geometry Index (TGI), Condition of level crossing gates en-route etc were observed by the GM/NCR.GM/NCR advised that all safety related works like sleeper renewals, rail renewals; deep screening of ballast, and Road Over Bridge (ROB) & Road Under Bridge (RUB) works should be completed within targeted timelines.GM/NCR also advised that the working condition of trackmen and other field staff could be improved by developing ‘trackmen rest rooms’ with toilets, lighting and other basic facilities in mid-sections.After the window trailing inspection, GM/NCR inspected the Mirzapur Station where he inspected the passenger amenities, waiting rooms, platforms, toilets, PRS, Booking Office, Catering Units, Cleanliness, Adequacy of water supply on the platforms, and Circulating Area. At Mirzapur he also advised that proper manning of the Automatic Ticket Vending Machines should be done so as to provide assistance to those passengers who wanted to use the facility of ATVM but needed to be guided.
