·“Adhere to Cut-Off Dates for completion of Kumbh related projects” Member Traction, Railway Board
·Kumbh Mela Preparations review meeting held at NCR Headquarter
Shri Ghanshyam Singh, Member Traction, Railway Board and Ex Officio Secretary, Government of India, held a meeting to review the ongoing preparations for ensuing Kumbh Mela at Allahabad, with Shri Rajiv Chaudhry, General Manager, North Central Railway and other officers of the zone at NCR headquarters office today during his visit to Allahabad.Addl. General Manager, Principal Head of Departments and Divisional Railway Manager, Allahabad and Additional Divisional Railway Manager(Operation) along with other senior officers of NCR were present occasion.
Shri Rajiv Chaudhry, General Manager welcomed the Member Traction, Railway Board at the beginning of meeting. He informed the Hon’ble Member that the entire Allahabad is being prepared for welcoming the pilgrims arriving in city during Kumbh Mela and Railways being an important partner, we are also making sincere efforts to meet the travel demand.
During the meeting Addditional Divisional Railway Manager made a detailed powerpoint presentation to apprise the Member traction about the preparations andprojects being undertakenby all the railways.
Shri Ghanshyam Singh, Member Traction, Railway Board appreciated the efforts and said that Standard Operation Procedures be made for dealing with additional rush during the mela. He also desired, all the projects and works related to Kumbh should be completed in time and all the time lines and targets should be strictly complied with. He further added that not only the works be completed but all the signages, directional boards, color coding etc should also be placed and the remains of project’s materials and debris to be removed as well in time.
Shri Singh said, Civil defence and scout personnel should be utilized to help and guide furtherpilgrims during Mela period. He added that train movement should not suffer for want of resources and adequate rakes along with crew and other staff will be provided as required. He assured full support of the Railway Ministry to the three zonal railways i.e. NCR, NR & NER.
