10.4Goods Maintenance activitiesIntensive examination of Goods trains under CC pattern is being done at Container Depot Dadri and GMC with holding of 42 rakes and 4 rakes respectively. Total examinations under CC pattern at DER are 80 per month and at GMC 8 per month Facilities for examination of premium rakes is available in GMC Yard at Kanpur. On an average 23 rakes per month are examined in this facility. In addition to this intensive examination of 113 rakes per month is done at GMC yard. Facilities for ROH of BLC and Air brake wagon are available at ROH Depot GMC with a capacity of 65 BLC wagon per month and 15 Air brake wagons per month. Formation of approximately 39 Long haul per month is done at COI yard, GMC yard and Tundla.

10.5Coaching Yard Activities : Rolling in examination of passing trains is being done at ALD, CNB, TDL and Aligarh. Details given below

Note :

a.Wagon detachments were high in 2011-12 due to 66 no hot axle cases in the division however these figures are lesser as compared to 119 detachments in 2010-11.

b.Target of BLC wagon ROH could not be achieved due to poor supply of wheels from JHS workshop. 8.00 % less supply of wheel against requirement of 2860 wheels in last eleven months of current financial year. However same was compensated by increasing outturn of Air brake wagon

 

 

10.7Special Achievement

Following special works were done in 2012-13 to provide better travelling experience to passengers

ØMechanized cleaning of base coaches over the division has been implemented

ØIntegrated pest & rodent control of ALD coaching Depot has been implemented

ØOn board housekeeping services are being provided in train no. 12033/34 & 14113/14

ØFailure indication cum brake application device in hybrid coaches of Duranto Express has been provided in one coach.

ØMechanized cleaning & washing of linen has been implemented.

ØContract for cleaning of coaches on Platform at CNB under “Clean Train Scheme” has been awarded.

 

10.8 Maintenance of additional rakes for Kumbh Mela-

 

Following special efforts were made in reference to Kumbh Mela 2013 –

·Planning has been done for examination of 40 rakes of 20coaches each.

·All rakes will be given primary maintenance in ALD Depot @ four rakes per day.

·Dispensation has been obtained from Railway board for validity of examination for 10 days instead of 7 days vides Board instruction no. 2006/M(C)/141/25 dated 28.06.212.

·Following work has been finalized –

·Cleaning and watering of primary coaches at ALD and turned round coaches at COI/NYN,ALD& SFG

·Cleaning and watering of turned round coaches at COI,NYN& SFG

·Repair of hydrants at ALD

·Hiring of DG & Welding set

·Thirty batches with their duty roaster have been nominated to carry out the maintenance of above said rake.

·Accommodation of staff coming from other Railway/Division has been finalized in Railway quarters for 456 staff.

·Man power planning has been done to carry out examination of said rakes.

·106 (91 at ALD & 25 at CNB) Kumbh mela rakes has been examined at pit line as primary maintenance during this month with validity of examination for 10 days.

Power Branch is headed by Sr. DME (O&F) supported by one ADME (O&F) for the activities of the organization. The activities are as below:-

Man power Management, Diesel Power Management, Crew Management, ART/ARME/Crane Management, (a) 140 Ton Crane/CNB, (b) ART at ALD, CNB & TDL, (c) ARMV at ALD, CNB & TDL, Weighing Machine Maintenance, Management of fueling installation, Running Room Management, Stores & Budget, Implementation of Recommendation of HLC Disaster management.
