OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS OF SECURITY DEPARTMENT JHANSI

vIn order to educate Railway Passengers about various crimes and prevention a core team of dedicated RPF Mitras were involved from all walks of life who readily participated in ‘Swachchta Abhiyaan’ and also spreading messages of awareness against menace of drugging. Several campaigns were launched to advertise 182 security helpline so as to give timely help to needy. In the year 2017, 430 complaints received on security helpline ‘182’ was resolved.

vIn order to provide Comprehensive Security Cover ‘Integrated Security System’ has been provided at Jhansi station which provides for complete coverage of CCTV, scanning by X-Ray Baggage scanners and Door Frame Metal Detectors. Apart from that under Nirbhaya Fund 13 stations have been proposed for CCTV coverage to enhance security measures.

            

v15,800 Anti social elements were prosecuted under various sections of Railway Act. For ensuring punctuality of running trains, sections and trains frequently affected by ACP were identified and strict actions taken against wrongdoers as a result during year 2017 there was steep decline in cases of ACP from 3,633 cases in year 2015 to 1,781 cases in year 2017.

vRPF Staff of Jhansi Division actively participated in Cleanliness Drives several old records were segregated and destroyed as per norms. Plantations done at all the Barracks to spread the awareness towards the Environment. All staff was given training in ‘soft skills’ and they also set an example by showing compassion and helping attitude towards needy persons.

      

vA seminar on Gender sensitisation was held and eminent speaker from Bundelkhand University participated and shared views on the topic. RPF staff were also sensitised towards the safety and security of runaway children and child trafficking. In the year 2017, 168 run-away/lost children and 12 ladies were rescued / located by RPF staff and handed over to their parents/ authorized Children Homes through NGOs/Child Welfare Committee.

         

vDuring RPF raising day week celebrations blood donation camp was organised at RPF Lines, Jhansi in which RPF staff very enthusiastically participated and 50 units of blood donated to Blood Bank for use of needy persons.

        

vThe passenger crimes were given topmost priority and special teams were formed to check such crimes. In the year 2017, about 34 cases of IPC have been detected by RPF and handed over to GRP and with them several other cases were connected. This includes detection of a gang involved in interstate robberies/thefts in running trains. 4 persons were arrested who confessed their involvements in more than 10 such cases in addition to a case of train number 22182 Gondwana Ex. near Agasod station. From their possession stolen material worth ₹10,00,000/- was recovered.

         

vOn date 09.08.17, RPF Jhansi jointly with GRP detected a drugging case in which accused (Couple) were first identified with the help of CCTV installed at railway station and then later by tracing their mobile phones. GRP Jhansi had registered a case vide CR no. 974/17 u/s 328,304& 379 IPC.

vIn the year 2017, RPF Jhansi Division detected 4 cases of smuggling of Narcotics/Contraband goods valued Rs 4,90,000/- and handed over to GRP for prosecution. Similarly illicit liquor valued Rs 4,25,360/-  were also seized and handed over to Excise department for necessary action.

 

  vRPF Gwalior working in direct supervision of Sr. DSC Jhansi successfully detected the case of fire in GS coach of train no. 11111/11112 Sushashan Ex. stabled at old taj pit line. Two juveniles were identified with the help of CCTV installed at Aramill crossing. The same were further corroborated by checking the face book account of the suspects and later arrested with the help of GRP Gwalior. Both immediately confessed their involvement and case vide CR no. 220/17 u/s 436 IPC &151 RA registered against them.
