II.GENERAL INTRODUCTION

Introduction

Diesel Loco Shed Jhansi is the only major Diesel Loco Shed on North Central Railway catering to traffic needs of Mail/Express, Passenger, Goods and Shunting services. The shed exercises cadre control over Narrow Gauge Diesel shed at GWL also. The shed has completed 42 glorious years in the service of the nation in April’2017.

  

As on 01.02.2018, shed has a holding of 139 locomotives with the following break-up:

a)Locomotive failures in graphical representation:


There has been 19.64 % improvement in equipment failure in 2017-18(Apr-Dec.) in comparison to 2016-17(Apr- Dec.). Average equipment failure in terms of failures per 100 locos per month in 2017-18 (Apr- Dec.).) is 4.5 against 5.6 of 2016-17(Apr- Dec.)



b)Punctuality loss cases (Direct) in graphical representation:



There has been 29.84 % improvement in direct punctuality loss cases in 2017-18(Apr- Dec.) in comparison to 2016-17(Apr- Dec.) Average Direct Punctuality loss cases per 100 Mail link in 2017-18 (Apr- Dec.) is 8.7 against 12.4 of 2016-17(Apr- Dec.)


I.INNOVATIONS & SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT  (Apr17 TO Dec’17)


·Certificate for Integrated Management System.

Diesel Shed Jhansi has got the Integrated Management System certificate from IQCS on 17th April’2017. IQCS has given this certificate after auditing Diesel Shed Jhansi and finding the shed practices to be in compliance with the requirements of the management system standards detailed below:

I.ISO 9001:2008 for Quality Management.

II.ISO 14001:2004 for Environment Management.

III.OHSAS 18001:2007 for Work Place Safety

Management


·       ·Commissioning of HHP Loco Simulator

The PTC(Prove Out Test Certificate) of HHP Loco Simulator sanctioned vide Railway Board M&P Program 2010-11 at an approximate cost of Rs. 11.86 Cores was issued on 11/07/2017. The work was done on turn-key basis by M/s Sydac Private Limited, partner of M/s Knorr-Bremse India Limited. The training of Loco Pilots on the simulator has been started.



·Technical Seminar at Diesel Loco Shed :-

To improve reliability of Locos by improving knowledge of staff and supervisors,Techinical Seminars have been regularly organised at Diesel Loco Shed Jhansi. Details of topic covered in seminars are given in montly PCDO every month.Participation of shed supervisors and technicians was encouraged in these Seminar.


·Compressor coupling rubber roller puller for HHP locos.

Compressor coupling rubber roller puller for HHP locos has been made in house in compressor section. By using this device rubber rollers can easily be uncoupled and coupled on compressor coupling. 


·HHP Loco water cooled Air compressor bedding test stand.

Alco Loco Compressor bedding test stand has been modified in shed to enable testing of water leakage, lube oil pressure testing and system flashing of HHP Water cooled Air Compressor. Now new/overhauled HHP Water cooled Air compressor will be tested during commissioning and in 6 yearly schedule on this test stand.

·      ·MU Injector test bench for HHP locos.

Previously MU Injector holding pressure and leak test, test bench for HHP locos has been made in house. Now this test bench has been modified due to which now spray pattern test, Chattering test and POP test is also possible on this test bench.
