Complicated Surgery conducted in Central Hospital Prayagraj - Restores Functionality to Severely Crushed Hand
In a significant display of surgical expertise a successful complex reconstructive surgery was performed at Central Hospital, North Central Railway Prayagraj on a patient whose hand was left nearly paralyzed after a traumatic industrial accident. This surgery was done by General Surgeon of Central Hospital North Central Railway Dr. Sanjay Kumar.
The patient, Shri Vikas Kumar, a resident of Karchana, Prayagraj, faced a bleak future when his right hand was caught in a machine, leaving his finger severely crushed and deformed. The injury was so extensive that it rendered his hand inactive, making daily tasks impossible and causing profound mental distress.
Before seeking help from Dr. Sanjay Kumar, the patient had been turned away by several major hospitals and surgeons who believed a full recovery was unlikely due to the severity of the trauma. Approaching Dr. Kumar as a non-railway patient, Shri Vikas Kumar found his last hope. on February 11, 2026, following a thorough clinical evaluation, Dr. Sanjay Kumar led a two-hour-long intricate reconstructive surgery. The procedure successfully corrected the deformity, returning the finger's functionality to near-normal levels and restoring the patient’s lost confidence.
The successful outcome was a result of a highly coordinated effort by a dedicated medical team, including Sister-in-Charge Manju Sonkar, Staff Nurse Ankita, and Medical Assistants Moolchand, Aarti, and Romesh. Their collective expertise ensured that the challenging operation was completed without any complications.
Expressing his gratitude, a moved Shri Vikas Kumar stated that while he had lost all hope, Dr. Sanjay Kumar’s intervention has given him a new lease on life
