North Central Railway Surpasses Annual Scrap Disposal Target 1.5 Months Ahead of Schedule

Under the visionary leadership of General Manager Shri Naresh Pal Singh, North Central Railway and strategic guidance Principal Chief Material Manager Shri Shashi Prakash Dwivedi NCR has achieved a significant milestone in scrap disposal for the current financial year 2025-26. Working in "Mission Mode," the zone has successfully surpassed the annual scrap revenue target set by the Railway Board well before the fiscal year-end.

As of February 12, 2026, North Central Railway has generated a total revenue of ₹276.43 crore through the sale of scrap materials. This achievement comes approximately o­ne and a half months before the end of the financial year, effectively crossing the ₹275 crore target mandated by the Railway Board. This performance reflects a robust growth of 20.57% compared to the ₹229.26 crore earned during the corresponding period in the previous financial year 2024-25.

Beyond revenue generation, the administration emphasizes that the swift disposal of scrap is a vital step toward maintaining clean, safe, and well-organized railway premises. The North Central Railway remains fully committed to its goal of achieving a "Zero Scrap" status across all its divisions and workshops. By prioritizing the liquidation of redundant materials, the NCR continues to demonstrate its dedication to operational excellence and environmental sustainability.
