The General Manager, North Central Railway Shri Naresh Pal Singh inaugurated the web-based application “NCR-SAFAR – Staff Accommodation & Facility Allotment in Railways”
NCR-SAFAR is a centralized web-based application developed to facilitate online booking and transparent allotment of Holiday Homes and Subordinate Rest Houses of NCR, which are available for booking by railway employees across Indian Railways.
The application has been developed by IT Cell/NCR under the able guidance of Shri Atul Kumar Mishra, CMIT & Dy.GM(G)/NCR, with the objective of digitizing and streamlining the allotment process.
The key features of NCR-SAFAR include:
•OTP-based user registration with mandatory HRMS ID and PF Number
•Centralized online booking system for Holiday Homes and Subordinate Rest Houses
•Real-time availability and location-based search
•Transparent online approval workflow
•QR-based booking receipt generation
•Role-based dashboards for Users, Admins, and Caretakers
•Online tracking of booking status (pending/approved/rejected)
•Room and occupancy management system
•Automated reports and monitoring tools
The application ensures a seamless digital workflow—from booking request to approval and check-in/check-out—thereby eliminating manual processes, reducing delays, and enhancing efficiency. It is expected to significantly improve transparency, accountability, and user convenience across NCR.
The General Manager appreciated the efforts of IT Cell/NCR and emphasized the importance of adopting digital tools for better governance and service delivery.
The launch of NCR-SAFAR marks a significant step towards modernization and digital transformation in North Central Railway.
