1.0Zonal Railway Profile:

North Central Railway serves two high density, oversaturated electrified routes, namely Ghaziabad-Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Palwal-Agra-Bina. Line capacity utilization on these sections has icmseased to 170%. North Central Railway has 100% electrified main line track and carries about 96% of its traffic on electric traction. North Central Railway runs approximately 385 Mail/Express, 176 Passenger/EMU-MEMU and 507 POL (Goods+ Coaching) trains on an average daily on electric traction.

North Central Railway has set an example for other organizations by winning the first prize of State Energy Conservation Award-2024 organized by UPNEDA.Subedarganj Railway Station has been awarded "Certificate of Merit" in Station Category in NECA-2024.Earlier, NCR has also been awarded the first prize of National Energy Conservation Award-2023 among all Zonal Railways in the transportation sector for adopting various energy efficient technologies and measures.
