NORTH CENTRAL RAILWAY WINS THE HON’BLE RAILWAY MINISTER’S ‘BEST ALL ROUND IMPROVEMNET CUP’ FOR THE YEAR 2017-18
The efforts and achievements of the North Central Railway (NCR) towards improving on the performance of the previous financial year, in the Financial Year 2017-18, have been recognized and acknowledged at the level of Hon’ble Minister of Railways. In recognition of the tremendous improvement shown by NCR across all major parameters in the F.Y. 2017-18, under the guidance of its General Manager, Shri M.C.Chauhan,the Zone was awarded the prestigious ‘Best All Round Improvement Cup’. The cup was received by the General Manager of North Central Railway, in a glittering ceremony in Bhopal in the evening of 16thApril, 2018 from the hands of Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Piyush Goyal.The award function was organized in the capital city of M.P. on the occasion of the 63rd Railway Week celebrations. It was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan as Chief Guest, Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Piyush Goyal as Guest of Honor, and Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways Shri Manoj Sinha & Chairman Railway Board, Shri Ashwani Lohani. The GMs of all the Zonal Railways and a galaxy of senior railway officers and staff also attended the award ceremony. It is worthwhile mentioning that in the F.Y. 2017-18, NCR has not only surpassed the performance of F.Y. 2016-17 in almost all the major performance indicators but has also surpassed targets given by Railway Board in critical parameters like Loading and Freight earnings.The Zonal Railway has set records in several other parameters-installation of Solar Energy Plants in NCR being one such socio-economically and environmentally important parameter. Speaking on the achievement, GM/NCR said that NCR has worked very hard and very consistently throughout the last Financial Year to bring about improvement across the board, which has been recognized at the highest level. “The credit of this achievement goes to the 65000-strong ‘Team NCR’ of officers and staff who have put in their heart and soul in their work” he added.
