Mega Yoga Event Organized in NCR Headquarters o­n the Occasion of 4thInternational Yoga Day

On 21st June, 2018, a Mega Yoga Event was organized in North Central Railway Headquarters, Subedarganj, Allahabad. The event was held in the badminton hall of the North Central Railway officers’ club ‘Spandan’. Speaking o­n the occasion, the Chief Guest, GM/NCR Shri MC Chauhan said that it is due to the efforts of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, that the entire world is celebrating the unparalleled heritage of Indian Culture and Well-Being in the form of the ‘International Yoga Day’. He said that in view of the continuous changes and stressors in daily life, Yoga has become a necessity. He highlighted that the regular practice of Yoga improves both physical and mental health of the practitioners.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by the Officers and staff of NCR along with their families. Participants were seen enthusiastically walking in with their yoga mats and water bottles in the hall. The participants were given an enlightening lecture o­n Yoga and its various facets by Ms Anupama Narain who is ‘Yogacharya’. The lecture was followed by a comprehensive session of Yoga Exercises and postures for the participants. Participants learned ‘Asanas’ like ‘Taadaasan’, ‘Bhujangaasan’and ‘Sarvaangaasan’ as well as ‘Pranaayam’. Talking about Yoga, Ms. Anupama Narain shed light o­n the system of yoga as has been propounded by the great sage Patanjali. The programme began by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, GM/NCR and AGM/NCR. All in all, the entire programme was a huge success, which witnessed enthusiastic participation by a large number of participants. Present o­n the occasion were the Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Principal Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, and other senior officers of the North Central Railway.
