Meeting Held In NCR/HQ between Principal Executive Director, Transformation Cell, Railway Board & his team of officers, and GM/NCR & PHODs/HODs of NCR.

On the 13th of September, 2018, a meeting was held in North Central Railway Headquarters, between Principal Executive Director (PED), Transformation Cell, Railway BoardShri Sudheer Kumar & his team of officers & GM/NCR Shri Ratan Lal & PHODs/HODs of NCR. The meeting began with GM/NCR extending a welcome to PED, Shri Sudheer Kumar & his team. In his welcome address GM/NCR said that transformation and simplification in the processes & procedures of the Railways will greatly help in improving the pace of decision making, which, in turn, will improve the service delivery to the esteemed customers of the railways.Speaking o­n the subject of ‘transformation’, PED, Shri Sudheer Kumar Said that the aim of transformation was to take the decision making nearest to the level where the concerned work has to be done. He said that we have to reduce thenumber of levels that a file passes through in the process of making of a decision. He further saidthat we have to “trust our people” and the objective is to improve Agility in work, Effectiveness and bring about perceptible improvement in service delivery. Subsequently, a presentation was given by Shri Jeetendra Singh (ED/EE/Transformation), in which the changes (simplifications/empowerments/reforms) done in the rules & procedures in the railways in areas like Procurement, Human Resource Management, Medical Facilities, Security, Care of Vulnerable Children coming in contact with the Railways, Stores , tenders & contracts,vigilance & promotionsand traffic-commercial were detailed. During the presentation (and following the presentation) there was a lively discussion o­n the various aspects of ‘transformation’ in the Indian Railways across a spectrum of subjects and a number of suggestions were given by the officers present in the meeting across a range of subjects. The team from the transformation cell, Railway Board, were also briefed by the officers of NCR o­n the novel initiatives taken in the NCR in various fields including staff welfare. The vote of thanks was delivered by DyGM(G), Shri Anshoo Pandey. The meeting proceeded &concluded in a mutually supportive & cordial atmosphere.
