TWO DAY WORKSHOP on EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE CONCLUDES IN NORTH CENTRAL RAILWAY HEADQUARTERS
The two-day workshop on “Leading with Emotional Intelligence”, which started on Tuesday 26th November, concluded today at the Headquarters of the North Central Railway in Prayagraj. This workshopfor Principal Head of The Department (PHOD) level officers of the Zonal Railway was designed to develop attributes critical & central to Emotional Intelligence (EI) in the participating officers as a wealth of research shows that all top leaders across Government and Corporate sectors exhibit high levels of EI. In fact, now more than ever, EI is becoming the “newtool” by which leaders are acquiring the capability for sustained success. The objectives of the workshop were to enable the senior executives to:
1)Deepen and nuance self-awareness that permeates actions and outcomes.
2)Understand how emotions can influence thoughts, behaviour, goals and decisions
3)Understand how managing emotions can drive engagement and productivity
4)Leverage findings of psychometric instrument for personal and professional excellence.
5)Decipher one’s core incompetence and create actions around it.
6)Enable the creation of personal insights that has the power to transform behaviours and actions.
The workshop was Facilitated by a team led by Shri Rajeshwar Upadhyaya of M/S Par Excellence (from Mumbai) who has over 24 years of industry and consulting experience and has conducted training programs and consulted in India, South-East Asia and the USA.
Talking about novel initiative of getting the high-ranking officers of NCR trained in EI, GM/NCR Shri Rajiv Chaudhry said that the goal was to make the officers more aware about their strengths and areas of improvement while dealing with emotions of self and other involved in decision making; and to provide them with a new mindset and skill set to enhance their own leadership potential. “Each Principal Head of the Department of NCR is the leader of his/her own department and we wanted them to have an exposure of this breakthrough concept that charges leaders with driving emotions in the right direction to have a positive impact” he added.
The officers participating in the workshop expressed their happiness and satisfaction with the program and it was collectively felt by the group that it had achieved its goals with respect to its objective of “Leading with Emotional Intelligence”. The workshop was convened by Shri Anshoo Pandey, DyGM(G), NCR.
