Closure meting cum felicitation program about Kumbh 2019 held NCR HQ

On dated 07.06.2019 a closure meting cum felicitation program about Kumbh 2019 at Prayagraj was organised at North Central Railway headquarter office. This meeting was chaired by Sh. Rajiv Chaudhry General Manager, North Central Railway and attended by all Principal Head of departments of North Central Railway , Shri Amitabh, Divisional Railway Manager, Allahabad with officers from Allahabad division, Shri Satish Kumar then Divisional Railway Manager, Lucknow and team of officers from Northern railway. During this meeting lessons learnt in Kumbh-2019 were discussed and road map for next Maha Kumbh in 2025 was discussed. The roadmap included important project works , doubling, passenger shelters , additional platforms, foot over bridges, approach roads needed to handle Maha Kumbh Rail Traffic. 

While speaking o­n the occasion General Manager emphasised that works required for Maha Kumbha 2025 should be planned, sanctioned and executed o­n priority to ensure readiness well in time.While mentioning the efforts of the dedicated officers and employees of the Allahabad division of North Central Railway, Lucknow Division of Northern Railway and Varanasi Division of North Eastern Railway, he said that the hard work of all these people is behind this successful event. Without their valuable contribution, it was not possible to organize such a grand event in a fully planned manner.

Two new station buildings Prayag Ghat and Subedarganj were constructed before the event along with extension of Allahabad Chheoki station building, construction of 8 road over bridges, widening of 6 road under bridges, 5 new foot over bridges and widening of 2 existing Foot Over Bridges, the commissioning of 37 passenger shelters including 4 major shelters with capacity of 10000 at Allahabad Jn for the event. More than 73 lakh pilgrims were transported smoothly and safely during the Kumbh period.

The officials and employees associated with the event were congratulated and felicitated o­n the occasion.
