On 20.11.2019 a video conference by all Board Members with Zonal Railways and divisions was held. Hon'ble Minister of Railways Shri Piyush Goyal also addressed the meeting. During his address he said Key Performance Indicators (KPI) has been a good step to analyze and improve the performance of DRMs and now it can be utilized to further reorganize our resources. Shri Goyal emphasized to look for new avenues & opportunities of earning with ‘out of box thinking’ and also said, non fare revenue has great potential, so it should be targeted. Hon’ble Minister also invited suggestions from all officers for improvement in earnings.  

Hon'ble MOSR Shri Suresh C Angadi also addressed the meeting. He said safety should be given top priority. He also said IR is a commercial organization and along with looking for service of common people we also need to take care of our business interests. He also welcomed new DRMs.

Chairman, Railway Board V.K Yadavduring his address said that safety is prime concern of Indian Railway. He said all the SPAD cases be analyzed and with analysis of root causes, accordingly corrective actions be implemented. He complimented all the zones for good work done o­n the front of closing Manned level crossings . He also complimented NCR for its efforts towards closure of MLCs. While speaking about the use of Key Performance Indicators of divisions has helped a lot, as divisions have considerably improved upon their previous KPI scores.He said our punctuality has substantially improved but we need to continue this further. He also said we have improved o­n infrastructure development front but we need to prioritize the projects as per operational and economic requirements. He also desired to implement digital initiatives and monitoring of HRMS. He further said that Identified critical and supercritical projects must be completed o­n time.

Board members also discussed important issues with zonal and divisional Railways.  Member Traffic said that punctuality has increased but also we need to improve freight loading. Member Rolling stock advised railway to develop more and more Utkrisht rakes. Finance Commissioner emphasized o­n the need to prioritize projects and identify them o­n the basis of requirements. Financial Commissioner also urged zonal Railways to increase earning and loading performance and control over expenditure.   Member, Material management advised that more and more use of GEM in Government Procurements needs to be done.  

While speaking o­n the occasion General Manager, North Central Railway Shri Rajiv Chaudhry suggested that in order to improve the freight loading mini rakes have been permitted for 1000 Kms but o­n intrazonal basis o­nly which should be revised to make it interzonal basis, thus to further facilitate loaders .

All the PHODs & DRMs were present o­n the occasion.
