With focus o­n “Fundamental Duties” Constitution Day celebrated o­n North Central Railway

Adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on 26th November 1949 and effective from 26th January 1950, The Constitution of India is Supreme Law in our country. The document lays down the framework demarcating fundamental political code, structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens. It is the longest written constitution of any country o­n earth and forms the backbone of the biggest democracy o­n the earth. The constitution declares India a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, assuring its citizens justice, equality and liberty, and endeavors to promote fraternity.

To mark this historic day Constitution day is celebrated o­n 26th November every year. This year Constitution day is being celebrated across the country o­n 26th November ,2019 and subsequent activities will continue for year long till 26thNovember 2020. Indian Railways has decided to observe Constitution day and subsequent activities in befitting manner spread over next o­ne year. o­n North Central Railway Celebrations of Constitution Day started o­n 26thNovember 26, 2019 with Reading out of “Preamble of Constitution” by Additional General Manager Sri Arun Malik which was joined by large number of officers, staff and supervisors posted at its headquarters office. This year Constitution day main focus is “Fundamental Duties “, these 11 duties laid down for every citizen of India acts as framework for our responsibilities towards our nation and society. During the year long celebration of Constitution Day following major activities are planned:

1.Brochures, Banner, Posters,Standees, flyers etc. related to Constitution of India are provided/ planned at prominent locations of offices, service buildings, stations etc.

2.Awareness campaign focused o­n Citizen Duties including fundamental duties shall be organized o­n all over NCR in next o­ne year.

3.Rallies,Walks,Runs etc. o­n the theme of Constitution of India shall be organized o­n all divisions , HQ office and other units of N C Rly.

4.Talk, conference, seminar, quiz, debates etc. o­n the theme of Constitution of India with main thrust o­n fundamental duties shall also be organized.

5.Stickers o­n Constitution of India with focus o­n fundamental duties are being provided in coaches. Flyers related to Constitution of India shall also be distributed among passenger.

A calendar for organizing activities spread over entire year has already been made by North Central Railway HQ as well as in Divisions of Agra, Allahabad and Jhansi. o­n 26.11.2019 reading out of preamble, display of constitution day posters/banners/standees, other activities related to constitution of India were also organized o­n three divisions and other units of North Central Railway.
