Shramik Special trains are running only on Request of state governments on point to point basis . No Boarding or de-boarding is allowed at any enroute station
During lockdown many new and innovative ideas implemented on NCR for efficient Operation and Maintenance
During the extended lockdown till 17.05.20 services of all regular passenger trains are completely stopped however Shramik special trains are operating only and only with prior request of State government. Till 05.05.20 NCR is expected to handle 31 passing through and 04 terminating Shramik Special trains bringing 4824 passengers to Agra Cantt. and Kanpur Central Stations .
Shramik special trains are running with prior consent of concerned states for preidentified and screened passengers and there is no other method to travel through these trains. As such no one should come to any station to board or for any query related to these trains. Since these trains are running on point to point basis as such no boarding or de boarding of passengers is allowed at any enroute station. Any attempt for unauthorized boarding or deboarding at any enroute point is an offence and punishable under relevant State and Central Government laws.
During the ongoing lockdown North Central Railway has implemented many innovative ideas to bring more efficiency to O&M activities despite working with bare essential staff strength to maintain stipulated social distancing . Some important initiatives are :
·Web Based seminars are gaining momentum as they allow to keep the workforce abreast with latest development and knowledge in the field while observing social distancing in true sense. Almost all departments are regularly organising web-based seminars now and latest one was organised by NCRS&T branch on maintenance related issue of Integrated Power Supply (IPS) for signalling system. IPS is a very important part of signalling system which ensures uninterrupted power supply to signallingequipment at station in event of power failure .Chief Signal Engineer , Sri NeerajYadav organised a webinar on IPS system for S&T officials of NCR involving OEM of IPS which is installed at 455 stations over NCR . Sri Arun Kumar PCSTE NCR also joined in this seminar attended by 219 participants and gave valuable inputs on reliability improvement of IPS .
·Tender calling and finalizations etc. are already online and now Indian Railway Works Contract ManagementSystem (IRWCMS)has been implemented on NCR. This will allow online signing of agreement,monitoring progressof work, measurement etc.bringing efficiency, transparency and most importantly requisite social distancing in execution of works.
·Video call/ conference-based staff grievance redressal and consultation with doctor etc. have been implemented in all three divisions of North Central Railway. All meetings are already being done using VC facility.Refresher and other trainings are also being organised throughonline means including evaluation of participants.
·E-office has been implemented in all three divisions and HQ office.Now VPN connection have also been provided to Railway Employees to use e-Office without need of Railnet and they can use any internet connection to run e-Office application while working from home.
·e-Das an electronic drawing making, editing, processing and approval platform is to be implemented on all Railways. Necessary preparatory works, training and hardware needed are being arranged for full scale implementation.
