NCR provides prompt medical assistance to a senior citizen travelling from New Delhi to Hijli
On date 06/05/21 09:36 pm: Prayagraj Division got a message on Rail Madad that one passenger Ms. Sarika (name changed to maintain confidentiality) travelling on board 02824(New Delhi- Bhubneshwar special) in B8 coach needs medical care. Issue was immediately brought to the notice of Senior Divisional commercial Manager, Prayagraj Shri Anshoo Pandey. Shri Pandey instructed for immediate arrangement of medical aid at Prayagraj.
Working as per the instructions, Prayagraj control room contacted the number provided at 09:38 pm and it was found that the passenger was complaining of headache, breathing problem and nervousness. Immediately, message was given to Railway Hospital and Dr. Gurdeep Pratap Singh, Medical Officer posted at Naini was at Prayagraj Jn. reaching even before arrival of the train.
Dr. Gurdeep attended the patient as the train arrived at 11:54 hrs, took her vitals like BP, pulse and oxygen saturation and gave her necessary treatment. Upon satisfying himself that the patient is out of danger, he allowed her to travel ahead.
Overwhelmed by the care provided by North Central Railways, patient’s kin Ms. Abhilasha Agrawal resorted to twitter and expressed her sense of gratitude towards Railway for such a prompt action. Dr. Gurdeep Pratap Singh told that it gives him a sense of pride and satisfaction to treat someone in such an emergent situation.
