Battle against COVID intensified as Kanpur received third oxygen express.
Indian Railways, in its bid to intensify the ongoing fight against COVID, ran another oxygen express for Kanpur. The train containing 40 mT of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in two cryogenic containers loaded from Durgapur by Eastern Railway reached Kanpur yard at 06:20 hrs in morning. It was immediately placed inside the Inland Container Depot for decanting where DyCTM Kanpur, NCR Shri Himanshu Upadhyay and Assistant Divisional Mechanical Engineer Vikas Kesari ensured timely offloading.
After completion of decanting, the LMO was delivered to SDM Narvel Shri Amit Kumar and Tehsildar Ghatampur by the siding authorities. At 13:43 hrs, train carrying empty containers departed from Kanpur for further loading at Tatanagar.
This is the third Oxygen Express for Kanpur ran by Indian Railways in view of serving the needs of COVID patients of the city and adjoining area. Cumulatively, a total of 160 mT of LMO has been delivered to the city by Railways so far.
