NCR hits a century of oxygen express !
Successfully handled the movement of 51 loaded and 49 empty oxygen express trains passing through its system.
Efficient running of oxygen express topmost priority for NCR: GM/NCR
In the battle against COVID, as Indian Railways is contributing its part by running of oxygen express trains and so far delivering more than 10000mT of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in 13 states across the nation, North Central Railway on Wednesday achieved a proud feat of running 100 oxygen express trains through its territory.
Oxygen express carrying 103 mT of Liquid Medical Oxygen loaded by Rajkot division of Western Railway was received by NCR at Mathura at 9:02 hrs. The train was handed over to Northern Railway at 10:00 hrs at Palwal. The train brought the century for NCR. This was 51stloaded train run by NCR, apart from 49 trains containing empty containers unloaded in Northern parts of the country heading towards different loading sites in other parts of the nation.
North Central Railway receives loaded oxygen express trains from ECR and WCR at Pandit DeenDayal Upadhyay junction(DDU), Mathura and Bina stations and hand them over to Northern Railways at Chipiyana, CPYZ (near Ghaziabad) or Palwal depending upon the destinations. Loaded trains received from DDU travel a distance of 755 km in Prayagraj Division of NCR before they are handed over to NR at CPYZ.
In addition to through passing trains, NCR has received nine trains to be offloaded in its system; eight trains so far for Kanpur and one for Agra. “In total, NCR has carried around 2000mT of LMO through these oxygen expresses”, informed Shri D.K. Verma, Chief Passenger Transport Manager, NCR
Much to the relief of Taj city, Agra receives its first oxygen express with 64 mT of LMO loaded from Tatanagar (South Eastern Railway) today at 15:07 hrs at Yamuna Bridge station. The train was offloaded at Yamuna bridge with the LMO handed over to district authorities to be used for the treatment of COVID patients across the city. Also, on Wednesday, Kanpur receives its eighth oxygen express with 40Mt LMO loaded from Durgapur, Eastern Railway.
As informed by the Principal Chief Operations Manager NCR, Shri Biplav Kumar, oxygen express trains are being provided green corridors for smooth and seamless run as instructed by the General Manager Shri V.K. Tripathi. Officers in the four control rooms of NCR at Prayagraj, Tundla, Agra and Jhansi are performing live monitoring of these trains and ensure no detention to them.
On 100th oxygen express, General Manager NCR Shri V.K. Tripathi has expressed his gratitude towards the railway staff involved in running and maintenance of these oxygen specials. He stressed upon continuous monitoring further as the battle against COVID is still ongoing and nation is looking towards Indian Railways for giving its best.“Efficient running of oxygen express trains and strengthening of health infrastructure of Railways Hospitals are the top priorities of NCR in this fight against the pandemic”, says the GM.
