First Oxyegen express reaches Agra with 64 MT liquid medical oxygen
360 MT liquid medical oxygen reached Kanpur by 8 trains so far
In Indian Railway’s bid to intensify the ongoing fight against COVID and ensure speedy & unhindered supply of oxygen, today two more oxygen express trains reached Agra & Kanpur over NCR region. The train containing 40 MT of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in two cryogenic containers loaded from Durgapur by Eastern Railway reached Kanpur yard at11.48 Hrs. It was immediately placed inside the Inland Container Depot for decanting where ACM Kanpur, NCR Shri Santosh Kumar Tripathi along with other railway&CONCORofficials ensured timely offloading.
After completion of decanting, the LMO was delivered to SDM Narvel Shri Amit Kumar by the siding authorities. At 1400 hrs, train carrying empty containers departed from Kanpur for further loading at Durgapur. This is theeighth Oxygen Express for Kanpur ran by Indian Railways in view of serving the needs of COVID patients of the city and adjoining area. Cumulatively, a total of 360 MT of LMO has been delivered to the city by Railways so far.
Today anotherOxygen Express train also reached Yamuna Bridge, Agra at 15.40 Hrs with 8 containers. From this first train to Agra, 64MT liquid medical oxygen has been transported keeping in mind the needs of Covid patients of the city and the surrounding area. on this occasion, various local railway officers, including Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer / Carriage And Wagon Mr. V.J Singh, Senior Divisional Operations Manager Mr. Akanshu Govil, Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. SK Srivastava, Superintendent of Police / Government Railway Police Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed along with other officers and supervisors ensured quick and safe decanting. Assistant Commissioner / Drugs Shri AK Jain and ADM City Agra PK Awasthi received offloaded oxygen on behalf of Civil Administration.
