Tenth Oxygen Express reaches Kanpur
440 MT liquid medical oxygen reached Kanpur so far
In Indian Railway’s bid to intensify the ongoing fight against COVID and ensure speedy & unhindered supply of oxygen, today one more oxygen express train reached Kanpur over NCR region. The train containing 40 MT of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in two cryogenic containers loaded from Durgapur by Eastern Railway reached Kanpur yard at06.40 Hrs. It was immediately placed inside the Inland Container Depot for decanting where ACM Kanpur, NCR Shri Santosh Kumar Tripathi along with other railway&CONCOR officials ensured timely offloading.
After completion of decanting, the LMO was delivered to civil administration by the siding authorities. At 10.00hrs, train carrying empty containers departed from Kanpur for further loading at Tatanagar. This is the tenth Oxygen Express for Kanpur ran by Indian Railways in view of serving the needs of COVID patients of the city and adjoining area. Cumulatively, a total of 440MT of LMO has been delivered to the city by Railways so far.
