Covid-19 vaccination program being carried out at a rapid pace over
North Central Railway
90% frontline healthcare and RPF personnel vaccinatedover NCR
More than 76% above 45 years staff given 1st dose.
COVID-19 vaccination programwas started on 22.01.2021 over North Central Railway. The program is continuing over the entire NCR including headquarter and three divisions under the guidance of Shri V.K Tripathi, GM/NCR and as per the covid-19 guidelines issued by government of India. The Central Hospital, North Central Railway, Prayagraj along with divisional and sub divisional hospitals are actively participating in this nationwide campaign. These railway vaccination centres are also serving non railway fellow country-men for administering vaccines in addition railway staff and their family members
The process of vaccination started with frontline covid warriors including medical and paramedical staff, security personnel and frontline staff of other departments involved in running of trains and interacting common public. So far more than 90% medical and RPF staff have been vaccinated with complete two doses where as almost 99 % of these staff have been administered at least one dose of vaccine.
The vaccination drive was taken to second stage from 01st April, 2021 with administering staff above 45 Years of age. So far around 80% of the above 45 years age group workforce has already been administered 1st dose of this vaccine. Now since the duration of 2nd dose of coovishield vaccine has been raised to 84 days the , the staff is getting vaccinated for the 2nddose as per their scheduled dates.
The drive has been further extended to cover all adults from 1st May 2021 onwards and now entire staff strength is being covered in an aggressive fashion. Out of the approx. forty two thousand employees below 45 years around 13500 have been given the 1st dose of the vaccine. An awareness campaign among employees and their family members is being carried out. They are being provided with details of process to register for vaccination and the safety which they will acquire after it. Their doubts about vaccination are also being cleared through seminars and personal interactions.
While administering the vaccine, all participants of vaccination program are being duly observed for a period of 30 minutes in the Railway Hospitalsfor anyadverse affect post immunization. Close coordination with state government is being maintained for smooth running of this vaccination drive. Participation of Senior Railway Officials, and doctors of North Central Railway in this immunization drive is helping towards confidence building in Railway fraternity and public at large w.r.t. health safety standard followed in this immunization and bringing impetus to this biggest and most important vaccination program of our nation.
