Dr. RupaKapil joined as new Medical Director, Central Hospital Prayagraj.
New era of women empowerment for NCR as all the three major hospitals will now be headed by lady doctors: GM NCR
Dr. Abha Jain is CMS Divisional Hospital Jhansi , Dr. ShobhaDayal is CMS Divisional Hospital Agra while Dr. S.Dutta is Chief Health Director, NCR.
Central Hospital(CH), NCR gets its new head as Dr. RupaKapil, an officer of Indian Railway Health Services joined as Medical Director (MD). Dr. RupaKapil was serving as MD in CH ECoRBhuvaneshvar. She has a close association with North Central Railway and Prayagraj. She had earlier served in Railway Hospital Prayagraj since her joining as ADMO Probationer, for 25yrs in variouscapacitiesas Anesthesiologist and later as Additional Chief Health Director (ACHD) Administration.
She is basically an anesthesiologist and an alumni of Madras Medical College.She has many awards and recognition to her name , important being GM award twice in her career.
To keep herself updated, she has undergone various training courses like conferences in her subject and DNB from Perambur Railway Hospital, Chennai.
Dr. R. Kapil is taking over the crucial assignment at a time when nation is fighting a staunch battle against the invisible virus and Central Hospital Prayagraj is setting benchmarks in providing health services to the city.
She said that her priority will be Early diagnosis, treatment and vaccination and strict implementation of Covid appropriate behavior.Post of Medical Director was fallen vacant post transfer of Dr. Vineet Agrawal as Principal Chief Medical Director North Eastern Railway Gorakhpur. Dr. S.K. Handoo was looking after the duties of MD/CH for last couple of months.
General Manager Shri V.K.Tripathi congratulated her and said that it is a proud moment for North Central Railways as the three major hospitals of NCR are now being headed by female medical officers. Dr. ShobhaDayal and Dr. Abha Jain have done commendable job during pandemic and are leading their hospitals in an exemplary manner. GM, also put a word of caution and said that at a time when nation is fighting war against COVID, responsibilities for new MD will be enormous and she had to devote herself in serving the nation to her fullest.
