Plantation drive organized in Railgon Subedarganj
Plantation Organized under the leadership of General Manager North Central Railway and President, North Central Railway Women's Welfare Organization
North Central Railway is constantly striving towards fulfilling its social responsibility. In order to discharge its social obligations, NCR is adopting and actively contributing towards, environmental friendly concerns such as, solar power plants are being set up, research and implementation for the use of alternative fuel is underway. Efforts are being made to use more and more energy efficient electrical appliances, optimal utilization of water resources in day to day working, setting up of water recycling plants, and expansion of green cover through plantation on vacant railway land.
A massive plantation program was organized at Railway Colony – Railgaon at Subedarganj. The program was organized under the leadership of General Manager North Central Railway Shri Pramod Kumar and President, North Central Railway Women Welfare Organization Smt. Poonam Kumar. Under this program 50 Saplings were planted in Park No.-2. All the Principal Heads of Departments of North Central Railway and office bearers and members of North Central Railway Women's Welfare Organization participated enthusiastically in this program.
On this occasion, General Manager Shri Pramod Kumar motivated everyone to plant more and more saplings and conserve them till the full development of the planted saplings.
It is worth to be mentioned that North Central Railway has set a target of planting 8 lakh saplings- Prayagraj Division-3.60 lakh, Jhansi Division-2.60 and Agra Division-1.80saplings during the current financial year 2021-22. Under this, about 75000 saplings have already been planted so far. Principal Chief Engineer North Central Railway Shri S.K.Mishra informed that NCR is actively taking steps for plantation & more such plantation drives will be conducted from time to time.
Apart from this, 3.7 million units of electricity have been generated through solar power plants in the first quarter of the current financial year thus saving about Rs.1.5 crore in electricity bills. Apart from this, about 38 lakh rupees have been saved by using energy efficient electrical appliances. Digitization of the official working is being done on priority basis to reduce the use of paper in day to day work. Portals like e-office, GeM and e-DAS are being widely used.
