Deep Seated Massive Keloid Excision surgery undertaken at Central Hospital/NCR Prayagraj
Central Hospital North Central RailwayPrayagraj conducted a complicated Keloid removal surgery under the directions of Dr.Rupa Kapil, the Medical Director.
As a result of burn injuries two years back, a four year old female patient had developed a keloid (a large piece of flesh) near her elbow which led her unable to fold her hand.
This piece was close to the arteries and nerves thus leading to gradual narrowing of the hand as a result of compromised blood supply. In addition, there was an apprehension of loss of sensations as nerve supply of the region was also getting affected. Had the lesion left untreated, it could have led to serious ramifications which might had require amputation of hand.
The keloid was successfully removed by the surgery conducted on 10.09.2021 at Central Hospital, North Central Railway Prayagraj by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Senior Divisional Medical Officer, North Central Railway, accompanied by Dr.Mohd. Usaid and Dr. S.S. Yadav. Matron Ruth Singh, Nursing Superintendent Smt. Manju Devi Sonkar, O.T.A. Ghanshyam Shukla and Rajiv Kumar Patel also contributed during this complex surgery.
