Hindi Workshop organized at North Central Railway Headquarter Office

It is our constitutional and legal obligation to perform all the work in Hindi - Chief Rajbhasha Officer / NCR

During the o­ngoingRajbhashaPakhwada in North Central Railway, a Hindi workshop was organized in Aravali meeting room of General Manager's office today o­n 24th September. o­n this occasion, Principal Financial Advisor and Chief Rajbhasha Officer Shri AjaiMathur while addressing the employees said that according to the Rajbhasha Policy of the Government of India, it is our constitutional and legal obligation to perform all official work in Hindi. Therefore, we need to work in Hindi and fulfillthe objectives of the policy. Shri Mathur instructed the employees present, to use Hindi/bilingual as per the rules of section 3(3) of the Official Language Act. He laid special emphasis o­n working in Hindi o­n computer, proper knowledge of Hindi typing &toolslike Unicode font and various keyboards available o­n Unicode system. Shri Mathur said that we should adopt simple and popular words in our work so that passengers, customers and general public including railway personnel can also get information about the policies and programs of railways and get benefited from them.

     Expressing his views o­n the occasion, Deputy Chief Rajbhasha Officer and Dy. FA&CAO/Finance and Budget Shri Shailendra Kumar Singh said that the work of railways is very technical, so technical words used in railway operations and management should be written in the Devnagri as far as possible.

In the workshop, detailed information was given about the Rajbhasha policy. The participating employees were given detailed information about Hindi vocabulary, spelling, etc., through power point presentation by Senior Rajbhasha Officer Shri Chandra Bhushan Pandey. Various types of popular letter formats were discussed by Shri Yatharth PandeyRajbhashaOfficer. Senior RajbhashaOfficer/Construction Shri Kripashankar Mishra guidedthe employees about the necessary constitutional-legal provisions and rules related to the use and propagation of Rajbhsha. Senior translator Shri Nanhe Lal Yadav informed about the use of Unicode and related fonts o­n the computer.

Earlier RajbhashaPrashnManch competition of the employees was organized in the Aravali meeting hall. In this competition, apart from the Rajbhashapolicy, various questions were asked related to culture, language, science, technology, history, literature, music, sports, contemporary subjects and railways. Addressing the participants in the program, Chief Rajbhasha Officer and Principal Financial Advisor AjaiMathur said that RajbhashaPrashnManch is a competition for the employees to refresh their general knowledge in a fun filled atmosphere. This tests the general awareness with respect to the Hindi, Indian Railways and other relevant subjects. Deputy Chief Rajbhasha Officer and Deputy Chief Finance Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer/Finance and Budget Shri Shailendra Kumar Singh was present o­n the occasionas the judge in the program. Employees from various departments of the Headquarters enthusiastically participated in the competition. The participating employees were rewarded by the Chief Rajbhasha Officer Shri AjaiMathur. The program was conducted by Shri Chandra Bhushan Pandey, Senior Rajbhasha Officer.
