Officers should bring quality in inspections” : GM/NCR

GM NCR urged the engineers to focus o­n staff welfare and customer satisfaction as opportunities to serve come rarely in life.

Two days Senior Divisional Engineers ‘Conference started at NCR Headquarters.


Conference of SrDENs for half yearly review commenced at NCR headquarters today with focus upon early completion of infrastructure works and promoting safety in Railway working. Sr. DENs from Agra, Prayagraj and Jhansi participated in the conference and exchange views with headquarter officers. In his opening address, Shri Satish Mishra, Principal Chief Engineer NCR discussed about various maintenance issues. He also emphasized o­n the need to improve Yard drainage. Shri Mishra instructed the concern to ensure chlorination of Water to be supplied at prescribed frequency.

Detailed discussion of issues related to track maintenance were deliberated upon by Chief Track Engineer Shri Anil Dadariya.

AGM Shri Ranjan Yadav told the Divisional Officers to put in all efforts to minimize the restoration time in case of any failure.

Speaking o­n the issue of customer satisfaction, Principal Chief Operations Manager Shri Biplav Kumar said that improvement in condition of existing good sheds should be a priority area and proper provisions of drinking water facility, rest rooms should be there in upcoming good sheds. He also said that temporary speed restrictions imposed due to any reason must be normalized as early as possible to improve the mobility.

The conference was also addressed by Principal Finance Advisor Shri Ajay Mathur and Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Shri Satish Kothari.

In his Presidential address, GM NCR Shri Pramod Kumar said that NCR is guided by the three philosophies of Nation first, always first; Antyodya and; social harmony. GM said that utmost care should be taken care during inspections. Inspections should not o­nly be done o­n a regular basis, but their quality should also be of highest order so that deficiencies should be put forth and remedial steps should be taken immediately. In addition to it, the shortcomings noted during inspections should be taken care of. GM expressed his strong concern o­n the condition of staff quarters and office buildings. “Opportunities to serve come rarely”, said Shri Kumar. “It is o­nly through the difference you can made in the quality of life of others, your success is measured”, added the GM. It is in this context he laid special emphasis o­n staff welfare and customer satisfaction. GM strongly took up the issue of providing better facilities to merchants and labours in good sheds. He asked the SrDENs that they should regularly inspect the goods shed and ensure their proper upkeep.
