Sustaining the momentum in the growth of originating loading, at the end of November, NCR registers 18.40% growth in its originating freight loading in the period April to November as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Monetizing the figures in revenue terms, a growth of 14.09% has been registered in the same period.

NCR loaded a total of 12.03 million tonnes during the period April to November this year against a loading of 10.16 million tonnes during corresponding period of last year. Revenue earned out of this outward loading during this period comes out to be Rs. 1226.22 crores.

In the month of November 2021, 1.54 million tonnes of freight was loaded & total revenue earned by NCR in the month of November 2021 itself is 161.46 crores (approx).

An important feature regarding the business performance of NCR is the fact that in FY 2019-20, NCR loaded 10.09 million tonnes during April-November. The figure shows that despite COVID, NCR kept it's momentum in 2020-21 with further improvement in 2021-22.

Sharing the information, Principal Chief Operations Manager Shri Viplav Kumar informed that among the major commodities which showed an upward trend were cement, food grains and Petroleum oil lubricants etc. Container traffic too showed a 16% growth in loading as 1.81 million tonnes of containerized cargo was loaded during April to November this year as compared to 1.56 million tonnes last year.

An important success attributed to the freight team of NCR is resumption of loading of Paddy from Datia and Dabra, a traffic which was lost from Railways since 2014. Its a remarkable achievement of freight marketing team of Jhansi Division in November.

Speaking on the achievement, General Manager Shri Pramod Kumar congratulated the BDUs and all the officers and their team members. GM further said “As we are in the second half of the financial year, all our efforts should be channelised in the direction to provide better facilities to the freight customers so that we can surpass the targets set by the Railway Board”. "All officers should work to the best of their potential", added Shri Kumar.
