50th All India Inter Railway Gymnastics championship, 2021-2022 concludes
North Central Railway became the overall champion Aditya Singh Rana became the individual champion.
Today, on 24.03.2022, the 50th All India Inter Railway Gymnastics Championship being organized from 22nd to 24thMarch at Eklavya Stadium, Agra, concluded.The closing ceremonywas presided over byShriPramod Kumar, General Manager, North Central Railway and held in the august presence of President North Central Railway Women's Welfare Organization Smt. Poonam Kumar.
In the program, first of all, the General Manager was welcomed by the Divisional Railway Manager Agra ShriAnandSwaroop. ShriSharad Mehta, President NCRSA and Chief Administrative Officer/Construction Prayagraj was welcomed by theAdditional Divisional Railway Manager (infra), Agra Shriasadsaeed. Divisional Sports Officer, Shri VJ. Singh presented a sapling to the General Manager.The winners of this three-day competition were felicitated by the General Manager. It is to be informed that 49 male participants and 9 female participants of 8 zonal railways participated in various competitions in this championship.Aditya Singh Rana of North Central Railway stood first with 77.95 points, SatyajitMandal of South Eastern Railway stood second with 77.15 points and SiddharthVerma of North Central Railway stood third with 76.85 points in this individual overall championship. Whereas, in the overall team championship, North Central Railway became the overall champion by scoring a total of 367.40 points. While South Eastern Railway stood second with 334.155 and Eastern Railway stood third with 320.525 points.Addressing the gathering on this occasion, the General Manager welcomed the participants, senior officials from Railway Board, North Central Railway Sports Association in the 50th All India Inter Railway Gymnastics Championship and said that it is a matter of great pride for North Central Railway that even before the Coronavirus, its 49th event was organized in this Eklavya Stadium, Agra and again this event has been organized at the same place after 2 years.He further said that in the year 2020, an amount of ₹ 50 lakh was provided to North Central Railway by the Railway Sports Promotion Board, through which it is proposed to develop a gymnastics hall in North Central Railway. The proposed cost of this work is about 7 crores which includes hostel. To execute this work, the balance amount will be arranged from various other works. He expressed hope that this gymnastics hall will be prepared in the next two years and in the year 2024, 52nd All India Gymnastics Competition will be organized in this hall of railways in Prayagraj.He congratulated all the winning players and advised the losing players not to get discouraged. ShriPramod Kumar advised the players to work tirelessly for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham in July 2022 and then the Asian Games in China in August and expressed hope that we will achieve the record number medals as done in the last Olympics.
On this occasion, General Secretary, North Central Railway Sports Association, ShriNitinGarg, Secretary to General Manager Shri Ajay Singh, Deputy Secretary to General Manager Shri Vijay Kumar and other officers and employees of the Division were present on the occasion.
