North Central Railway won three medals in All India Inter Railway Greco-Roman wrestling championship
Ravi and Vikas won gold and Aryan got silver
North Central Railway won three medals in the All India Inter Railway Greco-Roman wrestling championship held at Gorakhpur on 26 and 27.03.2022. Ravi and Vikas of North Central Railway won gold medals and Aryan Pawar won silver medal in the competition.
Wrestler Vikas of North Central Railway defeated Banaras Locomotive Works by 9-0, Railway Protection Force by 9-0, Central Railway by 8-0 and Wrestler Rajkumar of Western Railway by 8-0 in the final in 60 kg category. Vikas defeated all the wrestlers in wrestling before stipulated 3 minutes and got the gold medal.
Ravi won the gold medal in the 97 kg category. He defeated wrestler of East Central Railway by 5-0, Central Railway by 6-0, North Eastern Railway by 8-0 and in the final Wrestler Parveen of North Western Railway by 5-0. Similarly, Aryan Powar defeated North Western Railway by 7-2, Central Railway by 5-1, wrestler Arvind of Banaras Locomotive Works in the semi-finals by 5-0 in 130 kg category and got silver medal.
It is to be informed that NCR sent just three entries to competition and all of them won medals. These three wrestlers are posted in Agra Division of North Central Railway.
The President of North Central Railway Sports Association, Shri Sharad Mehta congratulated the wrestlers for this achievement. General Secretary of North Central Railway Sports Association Shri Nitin Garg, also congratulated Vikas, Ravi and Aryan Powar & wished them good luck for the upcoming competitions and expressed hope that in future also, wrestlers will continue to achieve similar achievements for North Central Railway and for the nation.
Wrestling coach of North Central Railway, Shri Sandeep Dahiya also expressed happiness over the achievement of NCR wrestlers.
