NCR taking stringent measures to curb overcharging at catering stall and parking places

General Manager NCR Orders An Intensive Drive Over The Zone

Decoy Checks, Monitoring through CCTV planned

During the currentsummer season there is heavy rush of passengers on the stations and trains. In such a situation possibility of overcharging at catering points and parking places can not be ruled out.

In order to curb the menace of overcharging General Manager, North Central Railway Shri Pramod Kumar instructed the officers to carry out an intensive drive throughout the zone.  He said, demand of drinking water rises in summer, so it should be specially informed to the passengers through all possible mediums that drinking water is being made available to the passengers at water-booths at the platform free of cost.  It has also been instructed that rates of water bottle, tea and parking should be displayed at all units in 'proper fonts’ atnormal eye level.

In addition to it, wide publicity about rates & Maximum Retail Price is also being given through radio, public address system and other publicity modes. Regular announcements through PA system at station are also being done about rates and the passengers are being requested, not to pay more than MRP. Use of social media is being aggressively done to create awareness.

General Manager has also ordered to carry out regular decoy checks at stations. Apart from it, CCTV camera are also being utilized. Their footage is also being checked on random and as well as complain basis.

E-payment and printed receipts are being promoted at stalls and in case of fast moving items like Tea and water bottles, it is suggested that a pre printed numbered receipt may be given.

Phone number for complain on overcharging is beig displayed on each stall.

It has also been instructed that regular & routine checks should be ensured at officer and supervisors level including officials from all departments.

NCR administration requests its esteemed passengers, not to pay more than MRP and in case of any irregularity, kindly lodge the complaint through All India helpline 139 or Rail Madad app.
