International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day observed all over North Central Railway

Yoga Shivirs Organised at Offices,Clubs and Stations.

International Yoga Day was celebrated today across North Central Railway with the theme of "Yoga for Humanity". A Yoga Shivir was organized o­n the theme in the North Central Railway Headquarters Premises. This shivir was organized under the leadership of Shri Pramod Kumar, General Manager, North Central Railway and in the august presence of President, North Central Railway Women's Welfare Organization Smt. Poonam Kumar and Additional General Manager, North Central Railway Shri Ranjan Yadav. General Manager inaugurated the shivir by lighting the lamp and administering oath to the officers and employees.

At the outset, the message and program of Hon'ble Railway Minister from Konark and then the message of Hon'ble Prime Minister was broadcasted live. After this a yoga session was organized under the guidance of trained yoga instructor Ms. Anupama Singh.

After this, all the railway personnel present and their family members also formed a human chain under the leadership of the General Manager with the aim of spreading public awareness regarding Yoga.

This entire program was coordinated by the Chief Personnel Officer/IR Shri Awadhesh Kumar. o­n this occasion all the Principal heads of departments, other senior officers and a large number of employees of North Central Railway were present.

Similarly, yoga shivir were organized in all the three divisions and workshops of North Central Railway. Divisional Railway Managers, Chief Workshop Managers, officers and employees alongwith family members participated in the event.

In Prayagraj Division, Yoga sessions were organized at various places including at Divisional Railway Manager Auditorium in the leadership of Shri  Mohit Chandra, Divisional Railway Manager at DSA Ground, Tundla College, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Mirzapur and other important stations,  in Crew Lobbies, Running Rooms, Electric Training Center, Kanpur etc.

The program was organized under the leadership of Shri Ashutosh Divisional Railway Manager, Jhansi at senior institute in Jhansi. Yoga sessions were also organized at various stations of the division. 

Yoga session was also organized at Officers Club Agra in Agra Division, under the leadership of Additional Divisional Railway Manager/Agra Shri Mudit Chandra. Similar yoga sessions were organized at different stations of the divisions.

The event was widely publicized using social media tools like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp etc. The National Yoga Day program which was being telecast o­n Doordarshan was also displayed o­n TVs and screens in official clubs, venues and various places etc.
