Employees are credited for all achievements of North Central Railway: General Manager North Central Railway

A two-day Permanent  Negotiation Mechanism (PNM) meeting with the North Central Railway Men's Union (NCRMU) concluded today at the North Central Railway Headquarters office. Today at the beginning of the meeting, all the officers and representatives of NCRMU introduced themselves and Chief Personnel Officer Shri Awadhesh Kumar informed that during the two day meeting, the welfare of the employees, compassionate appointments, transfers, health facilities and other staff facilities were discussed. Related agenda items are being  discussed.

Addressing the General Manager’s session today, the General Manager, North Central Railway Shri Pramod Kumar said, “North Central Railway is an important part of the Indian Railways that connects the northern part of the country with the South and East.” He further added, “Regardless the difficult times of Covid, North Central Railway has made remarkable achievements all-round during the last financial year. He attributed these achievements to the dedication and commitment of the railway personnel. For this, through you, I thank all the hardworking and honest railway employees. He further added that "North Central Railway Men's Union has always supported the railway administration and has been a positive participant in the smooth running of railways. I appreciate this cooperation of North Central Railway Men's Union and also hope that such active cooperation will continue in future also."

General Manager, while mentioning the important achievements of North Central Railway in year 2021-22 and in the first quarter of the year 22-23, said that, “The regular train operation of North Central Railway owned trains has been almost completely started. A total of 650 trip special trains of other Zonal Railways were operated o­n North Central Railway during April, 2022 to June-22. A total of 289 trips of 57 special summer special trains owned by North Central Railway have also been operated in the first quarter of this year.”

While discussing about staff welfare, General Manager said that for providing better medical facility to railway employees, 48 ​​private hospitals have been contracted. In order to strengthen the fight against the COVID, special/fever clinics have been set up at Central Hospital, Prayagraj, Divisional Hospital, Jhansi and Agra and Sub Divisional Hospital, Kanpur. Vaccination camp is also being organized, where railway personnel, their families, retired employees as well as other citizens are being vaccinated. Anti-Covid vaccination has also been started for children in the age group of 15 to 18 and 12 to 14. Oxygen plants have been set up in Central Hospital Prayagraj, Divisional Hospital Agra and Jhansi and Sub Divisional Hospital Kanpur. 

He further said that North Central Railway has always been dedicated towards sports. For this purpose, 27 candidates were recruited under sports quota during the year 2021-22 in various sports disciplines. The process of direct recruitment in ALP, Technician, JE, Para Medical categories is almost completed. Apart from this, notification has been issued for total of 2873 vacancies for other NTPC categories including 344 post of Station Master 1014 of Goods Guard posts, 709 Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk, 480 posts of Office Clerk under direct recruitment and 4697 posts of Level-1 posts. 

During the year 2021-22, a total of 8211 employees were provided the benefit of promotion through selection, suitability and trade test, whereas in the current financial year so far 1441 employees have been given the benefit of promotion. Apart from this, till now 533 employees have also been given the benefit of financial upgradation under MACP scheme.

As per the recently received Railway Board instructions, 889 posts were re-distributed at the required places.

In his address o­n the occasion, Shri Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of AIRF and Zonal President of Men's Union, said that the work has been done in an unprecedented manner during Covid in Railways. He said that 3000 railway workers died during Covid, but the railways have made achievements o­nly due to the determination of the railway personnel. He raised the issues of upkeep and maintenance of the railway residences as well as the need to restart colony care or joint safety meetings of officers and railway personnel.

In this sequence, the Zonal General Secretary of North Central Railway Men's Union Shri RP Singh expressed the need of Hospital Visiting Committee and Food Inspection Committee etc.

In the meantime, other union officials repaired railway houses, problems of electricity, water and sewer, problems of medicines in railway hospital, making the headquarters building air-conditioned, providing modular furniture for the employees in the office, welfare housing for the welfare of the employees. Issues like reactivation of committee etc. were raised.In the meeting, other representatives of the union who came from all the three divisions and all Principal heads of departments were present.

Discussions in the meeting were held in a very cordial manner.
