North Central Railway became Runner’s UP in All India Inter Zonal Railway Women's Cricket Tournament.
GM/NCR applauds the team for their performance
The team of North Central Railway, who were the runners-up in the All India Inter Zonal Railway Women's Cricket Tournament, called on the General Manager, Shri Satish Kumar and apprised him about their performance. It is to be informed that the North Central Railway team has secured the second position in the 33rd All India Inter Zonal Railway Women's Cricket Tournament for the year 2022-23 organised by P.L.W Patiala. This is the first time that NCR’s team from the zone has reached the finals since the inception of zone. In the final match, the team of North Central Railway lost to Northern Railway in a very closely contested match.
The team defeated the strong teams of Western Railway, Central Railway and South Central Railway in the semi finals in the tournament.
On this occasion, Shri Satish Kumar, General Manager congratulated the team and encouraged them to continue the same excellent performance in future also. He also spoke about always playing the game with full passion but with the sportsman spirit. on this occasion, President of North Central Railway Sports Association Shri A. K. Agrawal also discussed with team members about the individual performances and said that the team will be provided with all the facilities and motivated them to play well for the future.
On this occasion, the General Manager presented medals to all the players and presented a bouquet and memento to the team manager Archana Mishra, in view of her services. Sheis superannuating this year.
On this occasion, Vice President of North Central Railway Sports Association Shri Abhijit Singh, Treasurer, Shri Vishnu Bajaj, General Secretary Shri Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay were also present.
It is worth to be noted that the team prepared for the competition under the guidance of Manager – Archana Mishra, Coach – Hemlata Kala, and Assistant Coach Neetu David. The team included international players including captain Ekta Bisht and Poonam Yadav, Shiba Kothari, Anita Lodhi, Deepali Sharma, Tanu Kala, Kshama Singh, Aarushi Goyal, Sushmita Negi, Shweta Mane, Bhavna Gopalani, Swati, Mridulata & Renuka.
