Cleanliness fortnight commences at North Central Railway Headquarters with Oath
General Manager Shri Satish Kumar administered the cleanliness oath to the Officers and Staff
Today, on 16.09.2023, General Manager Shri Satish Kumar inaugurated the Cleanliness Fortnight by administering the oath of cleanliness at North Central Railway Headquarters, to the officers and staff in the august presence of all the Principal heads of departments. It may be noted that “Swachhta Pakhwada” is being celebrated by Indian Railways from 16.09.2023 to 02.10.2023.
During this “Swachhta Pakhwada” from 16th September to 02nd October (Gandhi Jayanti), cleanliness campaign will be conducted in North Central Railway with different themes every day in including railway stations, trains and railway tracks as well as at railway offices and residential colonies. During this period people will be made aware about cleanliness.
The oath administered in today's program is as follows;
Cleanliness Oath
“Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of an India which was not only free but also clean and developed.
Mahatma Gandhi secured freedom for Mother India.
Now it is our duty to serve Mother India by keeping the country neat and clean.
I take this pledge that I will remain committed towards cleanliness and devote time for this.
I will devote 100 hours per year, that is two hours per week, to voluntarily work for cleanliness.
I will neither litter not let others litter.
I will initiate the quest for cleanliness with myself, my family, my locality, my village and my work place.
I believe that the countries of the world that appear clean are so because their citizens don't indulge in littering nor do they allow it to happen.
With this firm belief, I will propagate the message of Swachh Bharat Mission in villages and towns.
I will encourage 100 other persons to take this pledge which I am taking today.
I will endeavour to make them devote their 100 hours for cleanliness.
I am confident that every step I take towards cleanliness will help in making my country clean.”
After the oath, General Manager Shri Satish Kumar along with railway officers and employees also conducted a cleanliness campaign in the headquarters premises and surrounding areas. During this, while inspecting the office premises and nearby places, the General Manager instructed to maintain cleanliness at the highest level.
On this occasion, Additional General Manager Shri Chandra Prakash Gupta and all the Principal head of departments, officers and employees of the headquarter office were present.
Senior administrative Grade officers have been nominated at major stations of North Central Railway Prayagraj, Kanpur, Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah, Prayagraj Chheoki, Mirzapur, Agra, Mathura, Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi, Gwalior for Swachhta Pakhwada. Similarly, for other stations and offices also, other officers and senior supervisors have been nominated to make this campaign successful.
