Mega Yoga Event Organized in NCR Headquarters

on the Occasion of International Yoga Day

On 21st June, 2019, a Mega Yoga Event was organized in NCR Headquarters, Subedarganj. The event was held in the badminton hall of the North Central Railway officers’ club “Spandan”. Speaking o­n the occasion, the Chief Guest, GM/NCR ShriRajiv Chaudhry said that it is due to the efforts of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, that the entire world is celebrating the Unparalleled heritage of Indian Culture and Well-Being in the form of the ‘International Yoga Day’. He said that in view of the continuous changes and stressors in daily life, Yoga has become a necessity. He underscored that the regular practice of Yoga improves both physical and mental health of the practitioner. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by the Officers and staff of NCR along with their families.

The participants were given an enlightening lecture o­n Yoga and its various facets by Dr. Anupama Singh who is ‘Yogacharya’. The lecture was followed by a comprehensive session of Yoga Exercises and postures for the participants.

Talking about Yoga, Ms. Anupama Singh shed light o­n the system of yoga as has been propounded by the great sage Patanjali. She was honoured by a certificate by the Chief Guest, GM/NCR. The programme began by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Shri Rajiv Chaudhry GM/NCR and Smt Lalita Chaudhry, President NCRWWO. All in all the programme was a huge success which witnessed enthusiastic participation by a large number of participants.

On the closing of the program, the GM/NCR administered oath to make regular yoga and a prayer for world peace was organized. Present o­n the occasion were the Shri Arun Malik, AGM/NCR, Principal Chief Personnel Officer,all the Principal Heads of Departments and other senior officers of the North Central Railway.
