GM/NCR Shri Rajiv Chaudhryreviews the Safety, Punctuality & Progress of Infrastructure Related Works during Video Conferencewith Divisions
A video conference of North Central Railway Headquarters held with Agra, Allahabad and Jhansi divisions. In the beginning of the video conference, General Manager North Central Railway Shri Rajiv Chaudhry along with principal head of departments reviewed the safety position on Agra, Allahabad and Jhansi divisions. Shri Chaudhry emphasized that all the safety related rules and guidelines should be strictly followed. He said passenger convenience and their safety should be our primary objective. While discussing about the issue of Platform Change of trains,he instructed thatfirstly the platform change be avoided and if it is done in some unavoidable circumstances then sufficient time should be given after announcement and proper announcements about ‘no need to panic’ for passengersbeensured. He also desired that announcements should also be made before arrival of Vandebharat Express on stations about the gate closing to avoid any undue person boarding the train and getting stuck inside the train.
While talking about the inspections by officers Shri Chaudhry instructed that the officers should also wear Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) thus to motivate the staff for wearing it. He also desired that the officers and supersvisors should insist the subordinate staff to wear PPE while performing duties. He also desired that while footplating every officer must monitor the movement direction of patrolmen, whether it is as per extant guidelines or not. He further added that during fog loco pilots be instructed to whistle more frequently thus to alert the patrolmen about approaching train. He said we should remain very alert while working in field and ensure all safety measures at worksites. He also discussed about trespassing cases and instructed the divisions to identify the locations and approach the nearby schools for creating awareness among school children. General manager instructed the divisions to conduct a drive to remove all released material lying along the railway tracks. Issues of Crew Link rationalization was also discussed during the project. He further added that along with stopping trains we should also do rolling in and rolling out examinations of run through trains while passing our yards. He also instructed divisions to review the potable water availability for staff working at far-flung locations like level crossings.
While discussing about the progress of infrastructure enhancement works Shri Rajiv Chaudhry said we should stick to targets we propose for completion of works. During the meeting ongoing works of issues related to progress of Govindpuri Non Interlocking, Jhansi-Bhimsendoubling, projects of speeding up of Chunar-Chopan Section, DFC related works along with other capacity enhancement projects were discussed in detail.
While talking about punctuality General Manager said though there is improvement in punctuality performance of North Central Railway over last year, but we should make efforts to further improve upon it.
