North Central Railway conducting onlinetrainings, seminars and counselling sessions on safety , Covid-19 and other important topics
Amidst lockdown North Central Railway is maintaining essential freight and parcel train operations and also fighting against this pandemic on many fronts with efforts like Covid hospital wards, isolation coaches,inhouse production of face cover,sanitizer , PPEs etc . Besides essential services, offices etc. are being operated with bare minimum staff and officers. Safety in train operation is always of paramount importance and Railway conducts many training programs for its staff, officers and supervisors to keep them abreast with safety , maintenance and operational rules and procedures as well as to prepare its workforce to meet future challenges . Owing to lockdown and to observe necessary social distancing protocols, formal training classes are suspended over NCR . Under theprevailing circumstances North Central Railway took digital platform to conduct mandatory safety training of frontline staff , training of medical personnel and other employees on various topics. Some of the important efforts made by NCR in this direction are as under:
1.Keeping limited knowledge on novel corona virus in view , training of medical personnel on COVID-19 related issue was taken in mission mode . In total 07 such programs organized for doctors and paramedics total 215 personnel are already trained and it continues further.
2.Mandatory refresher training equip our running staff with requisite safety, operational and troubleshooting skills for safe and efficient train operations. Accordingly 81 diesel crew and 40 electric crew are imparted refresher training through online means in structured way and online evaluation is also planned after completion of training program. These training programs coordinated by Training institutes at Jhansi and Kanpur are being continued to cover all due staff.
3.Signal and Telecom department has been leading the way in conducting web based seminars for officers, staff and supervisors of NCR involving experts in field of signaling .Some important web-based seminar and knowledge sharing sessions organized by S&T during lockdown are as under:

4.Refresher courses on safe maintenance of rolling stock has been conducted by carriage and wagon training centers for technicians through video conferencing app.
5.Many other web based trainings, seminars etc. are being conducted regularly by National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR) Vadodara and different central training institutes of Indian Railways to equip officers and staff of all streams with requisite knowledge during the lockdown period.
