Extended cancellation of passenger Train Services till 17.05.20. No one should come to Railway Station
North Central Railway continue its endeavor against Covid-19 pandemic on all fronts during the lockdown
In continuation to the measures taken in the wake of COVID-19, it has been decided that the cancellation of all passenger train services on Indian Railways shall be extended till 17th May 2020.However, special trains whenever planned, will run for Migrant workers , Pilgrims , Tourists , Students and other person stranded at different places only on request of state governments . Anyone who wants to travel should contact concerned state government and no one should come to any Railway station.
To improve safety and operational efficiencies, North Central Railwayis continuing its endeavor against Covid-19 pandemic at all fronts.Railway Corona Warriors are not only ensuring continuous freight and parcel train operations but also fighting COVID-19 with many innovation, social distancing and sanitation efforts. Some of the important initiatives taken on NCR are:
·Punctuality performance of time tabled parcel train is 100% consecutively for last 03 days on 29&30th April and 1stMay .Since start of timetabled parcel trains on 08.04.20 , NCR has run 342 timetabled parcel trains with excellent overall punctuality of 88 % while achieving figure of 100% on 07 days and has booked parcel of approximately 190 tonnes .
·During the lockdown more than 90000 tonnesfoodgrains has been loaded so farwith total freight loading of more than 8.2 lakh tonnes and NCR has achieved rare feat of more than 100% improvement in average speed of Goods trains from earlier 23KMPH to now 50 plus which is best in the country .
·NCR has provided approximately 100 paddle operated sanitizer/ soap dispenser and wash basin at different work places.
·To ensure safety in train operations approximately 2280 Km track has been tested ultrasonically over NCR.Despite lockdown NCR has maintained speeds at normal level in different sections through dedicated inputs based on data of track recording machines .
·About 1.6 lakh reusable face covers, 8000litressanitizer and approx. 2000 nos coverall are manufactured inhouse so far.With sanitizer now freely available in market its inhouse production shall be stopped to utilize recourse in more critical items.
·About 80000 cooked meals have been served to needy persons so far during lockdown besides distributing ration among porters, cleaning staff ,labourers , daily wagers etc .
