1.The Mechanical department(C&W)/JHS is headed by a JAG/Selection grade Officer designated as Sr. DME/C&W. He is assisted by DME/C&W & CDO/JHS. NG area at GWL alongwith B.G. coaching depot is looked after by CDO/GWL.

5.MECHANIZED LAUNDRY AT GWL
To provide washed and good quality linen to passenger, a mechanized laundry capacity 1 tone per shift has been started from 03.11.2016 at Gwalior. All trains originating from GWL are covered.

7.FREIGHT DEPOTS
There is only one Freight Depot in the Division at Jhansi
Activities: The following activities are done at Sick Line, Jhansi
- ROH of wagon (Defence wagon, Departmental, BCN etc.)
- Premium and Intensive examination,
- Light repair & heavy repair works on wagons.
- Local Manufacturing of items in Ancillary shop/Machine shop and blacksmith shop

9.IMPORTANT HIGHLIGTS/ACHIVEEMTNS
1. | Pedal operated hand washing equipment Coach care centre, Jhansi & Gwalior depot have manufactured 10 Nos. pedal operated hand washing equipment. In this equipments separate pedals provided to operate soap dispenser and water tap with100 Liters water storage container. With the help this equipment users can wash the hand without touching the soap dispenser knob and water tap. All equipment has been placed at different places like control office, crew lobby, coaching depot, passenger yard and other common places. |
2. | Isolation tunnel Wagon Repair Depot, Jhansi has developed an isolation tunnel with the help of internal resources available in the depot with the help of our own staff. This system is having automated operating mechanism and sanitizes the staff by mild savelon spray. |
3. | Isolation coaches
As per instruction of HQ; Jhansi division converted 20 Nos. ICF coaches into isolation coaches as per Railway Board guidelines (15 Nos. at JHS and 5 Nos. at GWL) in a record time of 6 days. Outside view of coach with mosquito net View of doctors and nurses cabin |
4. | Distribution of sanitizer & Hand wash liquid :-
388 liters sanitizer and 59 Ltrs liquid hand wash were collected and same distributed to C&W, O&F and Elect/OP staff. |
5. | Manufacturing of masks :-
To save the employees from COVID-19 Jhansi Division has manufactured/procured 32722 Nos. of masks. These masks are being distributed to RPF, Engg. & TRD staff. |
6. a | Shramik Special Originating trains :- Jhansi Division has risen to the occasion and maintained a record number of 58 trains including LHB rakes. C&W staff maintained the rakes rapidly round the clock at washing pits and facilitated the operating department in clearing the rush of Shramik/Labours. In all 67 ICF rakes and 14 LHB rakes were examined & maintained. Out of these 42 moved as Shramik Spl & 39 moved as empty coaching train. |
b. | Terminating trains:- Team of C&W supervisors and staff promptly managed the activity of sanitizing of both SLRs and locomotive of Shramik Spls which terminated over JHS Division. After de-boarding of passengers and ensured closing of all window-shutters & doors and locked them and dispatched the empty rake to destination not only at GWL and BNDA which are TXR point, but also at non-TXR point such as ORAI, MCSC, TKMG, MRA etc. by arranging C&W staff over there. During the month 44 trains have been sanitized. |
c. | Through passing trains:- In through Shramik Spls, C&W staff ensured safety of train by conducting rolling-in and rolling-out examination, watering of all coaches in 5 minutes and ensured sanitizing of both SLRs as well as locomotive at JHS also hand rails of al coaches of platform side were also sanitized. During the month total 582 trains have been examined, watered and sanitized. |
7. | Hands Gloves
1600 Nos. hand gloves were procured and distributed to staffs, who are working during the COVID-19 period for safe working. |
8. | UV based document sanitization box :- This UV-C box is designed for disinfecting personal belongings like mobile phone, tablets, purse, loose papers, cover of office files, etc. COVID-19 virus will be deactivated by using UVC lamps within minutes placed equidistantly in a box with UV dose of 0.1 J/cm2.This measure can reduce the transmission of Corona virus in office and public environment which is required to work in all conditions. Taking FOS (Factor of safety) of 1.82, the time taken to deactivate the virus to untraceable level comes out to be 1 min 55 sec So, UV-C Light based sanitization box can sanitize a file in 1 min 55 sec (Less than 2 min). Safety Feature: If someone mistakenly opens the door of box during sanitizing operation, circuit for power supply to UV-C rods will be cutoff automatically. The manufacturing cost of this equipment is only Rs.3350/- per piece.

9. | Automatic sensor based bottle hand sanitizer machines:-
Coaching depot, Jhansi has manufactured 07 Nos. automatic bottle hand sanitizer machines which is developed with the help of as sensor circuit with released RO container for sanitizing the hands of employees during working hours. This equipment is installed in offices. This equipment can be operated by using of USB port or mobile charger/power bank. The manufacturing cost of this equipment is only Rs.900/- per piece.

10. | Through passing trains:-
In through trains, C&W staff ensured safety of train by conducting rolling-in and rolling-out examination, watering of coaches and ensured sanitizing of both SLRs as well as locomotive at JHS. Hand rails of all coaches of platform side were also sanitized. During the month total 698 trains have been examined, watered and sanitized. |
11. | Rearranging amenities of Isolation coaches:-
20 coaches were converted into Isolation coaches for COVID-19 patient by Jhansi Division. These coaches were utilized in Shramik Spl. for clearance of crowd. During operation of Shramik Spl. these isolation coaches were got damaged. As per HQ message, 20 coaches released from Shramik Spl. were again made fit for COVID-19 patient by re-fitment of mosquito net, pipe fittings and other amenities. |
12. | Infrared temperature meter :-
In view of COVID-19, the 10 Nos. infrared temperature meter procured to check the temperature of all employees before taking on duty and allowed if found under limit.
