10.Innovation
1. | Wheel Changing Device ØDue to wheel defects, wagons are detached enroute and wagon/coaches ineffective increases. ØTo resolve this issue, Wagon Repair Depot, Jhansi has developed a wheel changing device in situ condition. ØThis carrier transversely moves on square rail longitudinally. ØAfter withdrawing defective wheel set, a good wheel put on carrier and slide inside the wagon/coach body. ØFurther wheel set is provided under the side frame/bogie and lowering of coach/wagon body is done. ØBy using this device wheel sets can be changed at road side station in minimum time. ØThis device is specially used for lifting the LHB coaches which needs to be lifted excessive high as bio toilet tank restricts the removal of wheel set while wheel changing is done. 2. | Testing Gadget to restrict CR Overcharging The proper functioning of DV is tested with the help of Single Car Test Rig in open line. Presently no instrument/test rig is available for checking of CR over charging. Taking an innovative step C&W depot Gwalior has manufactured a test bench for checking the overcharging of CR. With the help of this device (without removing the DV), CR overcharging can be checked through SCTR. With the use of this device in sick line, the problem of overcharging of CR will be controlled; resulting in restricting the cases of brake binding enroute. Checking Procedure 1.First connect the FP & BP hose pipe with SCTR 2.Charge 05 Kg/cm2 pressure through SCTR in BP. After charging, apply brakes by dropping the pressure of 1.6 Kg/cm2. 3.Close the BP cock of gadget and open the FP cock. 4.In this procedure FP Pressure (06 Kg/cm2) will be maintained in FP through gadget and brakes will be released. 5.After brake releasing, CR pressure should not be dropped less than 0.1 Kg/cm2for 10 seconds in ICF coaches and 25 seconds for LHB, which means CR is not overcharged. 3. | Gadget for welding SF Liner During ROH, numerous side frame liners are found excessive worn out, same are required to replace with new one. At the time of welding of manganese liner in trolleys it get shifted from their locations and improper welding takes place because of displacement of liners. To avoid this problem, Jhansi Wagon Depot has developed a gadget for proper fitment of liners before welding. With the help of this gadget both side liners are tightened in position to maintain the permissible gap and then welding is done all round the liner at proper location. 4. | C.B.C. supporting device in view of develop coach maintenance facility, an innovative C.B.C supporting device has been developed by coaching sick line, Gwalior for carrying out fitment ofC.B.C during maintenance/ IOH. It is a device which can be fitted between floor & bottom end of C.B.C.There is a lifting screw jack facility is middle part of this device, which takes load of C.B.C.by rorating spindle and facilitate to support the C.B.C. for easy fitment/maintenance. 5. | Bolster Spring Changing device For changing of bolster spring a gadget has been developed by coaching sick line, Gwalior. With the help of this device bolster spring can be change in enroute or during the maintenance. The parts used in this device are as under 1.Trunnion (3mm)- 01 No. 2.Trunnion nut- 04 Nos. 3.Vertical shock absorber plate – 02 Nos. 4.Iron operating Rod (length 900 mm) – 01 No. Parameter of device a.Opening length of device – 700 mm b.Closing length of the device – 460 mm c.Total weight – 21 kg. The view of ICF coach bolster spring device By application of this device not only the safety of coaching stock will be ensured, but also the detention to coaching trains will be reduced significantly. |
