MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS OF SECURITY DEPARTMENT JHANSI DIVISION
Women & Child Security
vSecurity of women, children and senior citizens travelling in railways is an area of top concern for RPF Jhansi Division. In the year 2022 up to Dec. 237 children and 32 women, 2023 up to Dec. 263 children and 73 women & 2024 up to March 23 children and 20 women had fled home/lost/found in railway premise were rescued/ located by RPF staff and handed over to their parents/authorized children homes through NGOs.
Meri Saheli
vMeri Saheli initiative was launched by RPF JHS Division. A dedicated team of Mahila officer and staff has been formed at VGLB & Gwalior Stations Jhansi division. They will enter all passengers’ coaches including ladies coaches to identify lady passengers specially travelling alone. The initiative has reportedly been successful in installing a sense of security among woman travelers and has rendered help to them in several instances. These ladies passengers are briefed about all precautions to be taken during the journey and were advised to dial 139 in case they face any problems.

Saving Lives
In the year 2023 Due to vigilant action by on duty RPF staff, 07numbers of lives have been saved such as these:-
vOn 02.03.2023, RPF LCT Neelam Sharma rescued a man who fell down while trying to deboard the train at Gwalior Railway station.
vOn 17.03.2023, RPF CT Manoj Kumar Yadav rescued a men who fell down while trying to boarding the train atGwalior Railway station.
vOn 19.06.2023, RPF CT Sandeep Tomar rescued a women who fell down while trying to boarding the train atMorena Railway station.
vOn 27.06.2023, on Train escorting duty Ramesh Yadav/RPF VGLJ rescued a women who fell down while trying to deboarding the train atGwalior Railway station.
vOn 11.08.2023 RPF Lct. Puja Meena rescued a women who fell down while trying to boarding the train atMorena Railway station.
vOn 18.09.2023 RPF Ct. Sharfaraz Ali rescued a men who fell down while trying to boarding the train atBandaRailway station.
vOn 18.11.2023 RPF ASI Shivdan rescued a men who fell down while trying to boarding the train at MorenaRailway station.
Detection of IPC crimes
vIn the year 2022 Jan to Dec 90 such offenders were arrested along with the recovery of 140 items like mobiles, ornaments and cash worth Rs.2847220/-.
vIn the year 2023 Jan to Dec. 91 such offenders were arrested along with the recovery of 146 mobiles, ornaments and cash worth Rs. 3159073/- by RPF and were handed over to GRP for registration of the cases. From them 126 old cases were connected.
vIn the year 2024 Jan to March 30 such offenders were arrested along with the recovery of 30 items like mobiles, ornaments and cash worth Rs.729460/-.
Detection of Contrabands goods
v41 cases of Narcotics were detected and 962.057 Kg. ganja were seized value of Rs. 12726925/- by RPF & 69 person arrested and handed over to GRP/Police in 2022.
v23 cases of Narcotics were detected and 316.816 Kg. ganja were seized value of Rs. 3929820/- by RPF & 31 person arrested and handed over to GRP/Police in 2023.
v09 cases of Narcotics were detected and 113.281 Kg. ganja were seized value of Rs. 1701075/- by RPF & 13 person arrested and handed over to GRP/Police in 2024 up to March.
10 cases of liquor respectively were detected 296 Ltr. Alcohol seized by RPF value of Rs. 395610/- case handed over to GRP/Police.
Recovery of passengers lugguage and hand over
vIn the year 2022 total 320 items like Mobiles, handbags, trolley bags, etc including 01 ladiesbag containing gold ornaments and cash (Total value ofRs. 1360540/-) and in year-2023 Total 569 items value ofRs. 7993105/- and in the year of 2024 up to March 157 items value ofRs. 2388090/- were recovered by RPF and handed over to their owners.
