                                  ELECTRICAL (OPERATION)
ORGANIZATION & JURISDICTION 

The Electrical Operation Branch (OP) of Jhansi division is responsible for following functions


i)Management of AC & DSL Locomotives on line.

ii)        Management of lobbies and running staff (for both traction) including their training etc.

iii)       Cadre control of all loco running staff, including Diesel trained running staff & supervisors.

iv)       Management of Running Room infrastructure facilities at Jhansi, BNDA, KURJ, & GWL.

v)       Management of AC Locos at Trip Shed Jhansi.

HIGHLIGHTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

1.

Combined Crew Booking Lobby & Chief Crew Controller office VGLJ.  The New Lobby & Office is now situated at Platform No.-1. Both Lobby & Office are now equipped with all modern facilities. This will now help in smooth train operation.  CCC office & Lobby being at one place will help the staff to complete their office related issues quickly.

2.

CBC (Computer based counseling) system has been introduced in VGLJ lobby. This system will help LP/LPS/ALP in safe train operation during foggy weather by their intensive counseling. CBC has numerous counseling features such as :-

Home page consists of Fog Posters and SPAD prevention banner in animated view.

a) All Safety, Technical circulars available on home page of CBC.

b) Different control circuits of conventional loco are available on CBC.

c) Intensive Counseling in questioning manner.

c) Structured counseling module for NEW ALP.

d) Structured counseling module for experienced LP.

e) Structured counseling module for long absent crew.

f) Division SPAD cases analysis, SR violation cases analysis.

g) Division case study.

h) Weak area/ Suspected nature analysis of Crew.

i) Less time taken in counseling with more knowledge.

j) Large number of questions on Fog, MASS, and safe train operation.

k) SMS feedback system.

Yard Simulator KIOSK. ie installed at VGLJ lobby. This yard simulator will help in reducing SPAD, Derailments, and Point Bursting cases in yards. This KIOSK will also help the staff regarding the following :-

a) Important points regarding yard counseling.

b) Refreshing road knowledge of yards in Which the crew has not worked for a long time.

c) Display of routes of all connected lines for departure & receptions of trains. 

d) Displaying signal number of each & every signals.

e) Actual photograph of the signal and its location.

RFID card based RRMS (RUNNING ROOM MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) is started at VGLJ lobby.

Following features in RRMS are as under:-

1.RFID( Radio Frequency Identification card based RRMS system is started at lobby for both Running Rooms of VGLB.

2.RFID card was given to out station staff after sign off at Jhansi lobby and entry is done on line.

3.In both running room all records Running room check-in & check-out time, Room allotment, Meals, and Online complaints are managed online.

4.RFID (Radio Frequency Identification card based RRMS system is started at GWL lobby & Running Rooms.

"Signal Calling Out along with RS Operation Simulator" integrated to IPAMS working is installed at VGLJ CREW LOBBY. This simulator make ALP/LP's confident enough to operate RS at critical points during safe train operation.

This simulator has following salient features :-

1. Both Flap Type & D1 type RS model

2. Signal calling out record at various aspect of signal.

3. Random generation of Video shown at simulator.

4. Random Speed at various aspect of signal.

5. LP/ALP grading at calling out of signal on every aspect including Green, Double Yellow, Single Yellow, Red signal.

6. ALP/LP Confidence at RS Operation

7. Full Video record of ALP/LP behavior during exercise.

This Simulator has been integrated with IPAMS and grading of ALP/LP with signal calling out along with RS Operation, is given by CLI.

This Simulator make ALP/LP confident enough to operate RS, along with proper calling out of signal which leads Indian railway to one step closer to Safe train operation.

BP Pressure Gauge Testing Device has been installed at VGLJ Crew lobby. to calibrate & check the pressure gauge of Guard. In this testing device, guard BP pressure gauge is calibrated & checked, if the gauge of guard is found defective the gauge is replaced. After the installation of this device the BP pressure related issues are minimized in coaching & freight trains.

IPAMS APP for CLI’s monitoring, counseling and all other information related to running staff has been introduced. This APP is having the new features of monitoring CLIs and Crew working performance.

a)Day/Night, Mail/Goods & Footplate Hours Analysis.

b)Daily Footplate Monitoring.

c)Special watch / Counseling of Suspected, First Time Fog working & new LPG.

d)Sectionwise, Kilometer on Footplate.

e)Integrated SPM analysis.

Running Room Management System is introduced in VGLJ Running Room. All Crew database of adjoining division has been updated in this system. Following data is displayed:-

a)Crew Name.

b)Room Booking, Date, Time.

c)Food requirement & Prepration time.

d)Outgoing & Incoming Train number.

e)Vacant /Occupied Beds status.

f)Rest Hours of Crew

g)Complaints can also be lodged by Crew online through QR code. QR code is available at Lobby, Running Room & in App. The Complaint is redressed by CLI/RR & Officers.

Conversion from Diesel to AC 48 staff (17 LP, 31 ALP) has been sent in JUNE 2024 - 25. Conversion of 84 staff (01 CLI, 58 LP, 25 ALP) has been done during 2023 - 24.

During 2024-25 (Up to JUNE - 24), total 26 staff grievances were received out of which 22 grievances were resolved remaining 04 grievances will be resolved within a month. In 2023-24 total 125 staff grievances were received out of which 122 grievances were resolved.

During 2024-25 (Up to JUNE - 24), total 36 Staff safety Seminar & 04 Family Seminar were organized. In 2023-24 total 129 Staff Seminar & 15 Family Seminar were organized during the year for Safe Train Operation, & other running staff related problems.

During 2024-25 (Up to JUNE - 24), 04 Rocket 284 Python trains were operated by VGLJ. Whereas during 2023-24 91 Rocket, 682 Python trains were operated by VGLJ crew, which has resulted into saving of crew.

13.

During 2024-25 (Up to JUNE - 24), Speed Analysis of 3008 trains were done. In 2023-24 totals Speed Analysis of 9132 trains were done for safe train operation.

14.

During 2024-25 (Up to JUNE - 24), total 328 CUG calls analysis were done. 06 staff taken up under DAR. In 2023-24 total 715 CUG calls analysis were done. 31 staff was taken up under DAR.

15.

Family Helpline number (9794847164) for Running Staff has been started round the clock, which is helpful in communicating any emergency help/message to staff. During 2023-24 (Up to JUNE - 24) total 143 messages have been received & in 2023-24 total 307 messages have been received during this year and all cases have been resolved.
