JHS workshop is a major POH wagon workshop being the largest workshop in the Indian Railways, and handling 22% of the Indian Railway wagon-POH arising. It deal with air brake stock, UIC stock and 4-wheeler tank wagon stock, with bulk of the out turn pertaining to air brake stock. The out turn of air brake stock requires feed of 11 rakes per month. This feed is received from NKJ and Bhusawal yards of WCR and CR.
Steel raw material and other components required for the POH out turn have been supplied so for by COS/C.Rly. Material required for the financial year 2005-06 are, however, being procured by COS/N.C.Rly Steel raw material items like sheets, plants, angle, channels, rounds and central procured by Railway Board.
